1. Does the TC head give that thickness in tone that the OTB does? All the TC gear looks impressive, but from experience ive always been a little sceptical about digital stuff. Ive had my terror bass around half a year now, and while I like the fat tone I can get, I find the gain quite honky and could do with some better EQ in situations.

  2.
Tye Zamora from Alien Ant Farm is a brilliant bass player.
I'd forgotten about him! Some of AAF's songs were a bit dodgy, but you could tell he was a good player who knew his stuff.

Im gonna give a mention to Roy Mitchell-Cardenas from Mutemath. Very underrated player I reckon. Got some good lines without trying to dominate a song.

  3. Another vote for the Multicomp here. I used to have the Demeter Compulator, but I found the compression on it quite sharp and precise. I reckon its better suited for jazzy/funky playing, whereas I prefer the slightly more transparent sound of the EBS for rock music.

  4. Heres what ive got going at the moment.

I was really unimpressed with the two Iron Ether pedals up to now. Ive recently been trying a passive bass and it definitely plays better with the Oxide, so thats kept its place on the board. I finally got an EP-2 for the Xerograph today too and now I can get the sounds out of it that I bought it for! Im on a distortion hunt now but I cant find one that I like, expect the Agro to be up for sale soon. Also, after going round in circles for the past two years, im looking to get an OC-2 back on the board. Maybe then i'll be happy!

  5. I love everything about this amp apart from how it plays with active basses. With mine, I get a lot of honk and even more boom from it. When I use my passive bass though, I get a nice big round sound that I was expecting from this amp.

  6. I dont think ive ever been happy with my rig. I can never get that sound thats in my head, and I normally have to buy blind because I cant try out the things I want anywhere locally. I havnt been in a band in a while though, so it doesnt help that I dont really hear my sound in the mix. I dont have the money to keep chopping and changing so I just put up with what ive got, its better than having nothing to play through.

  7. A Boss LS-2 will be the cheap option, plus lots of extra useful features if you need them. An Xotic X-Blender is probably the best out there but will cost you. If you wanna keep it British then check out the sfx s&m pedal.
