1.
I wind the e string end in as much as possible as to use it as a thumb rest then put the g end slightly raised towards the strings in comparison and fine tune the balance across all the strings in a band setting,I have taken a bass with a legendary weak g to actually having to much output compared to the lower strings and then back to balanced. Get the e end set in a deep as possible first ime
sorry, when you mean "wind the E string end", are you talking about the pickup height? ( I´m still trying to get a grip on all the expressions you use
2.
I had that exact problem on a Sterling I had a few years ago but have to say that it is not apparent on the two that I have now. What is obvious though is that on the pre EB when the screw in the pick up come loose and it angles up at the E string then the bottom end is boosted massively so I would definitely suggest angling the pick up to be closer to the string on the G side and that should help.
Actualli I think its the opposite- move the pickup further away from the G string so it doesn´t cancel the signal!
3. Bump And with more pics I´va also changed the bridge to a more sturdy one (original included)
4. Thanks! actually I do the opposite, which is getting the "treble" side of the pickup close as possible to the G string. I´m going to try with a bigger gap as you say and then I let you know. thanks for the tip!
5. Ok! Good luck with it! As to my problem, both of my rays aren´t balanced from string to string... The G has no "body" when compared to the E string. On my P-basses or J basses the string balan ce is way more even... I´ve been living with thsi situation since I´ve got the 88 (more than 10 years ago) and I´ve been told that this is normal on these basses... What do you think? Thanks
6. I never had any problem whatsoever. I think the best idea is to remove the pickup and see what is causing that problem (after all to put the glue you need to do that.) BTw, is This the best thread to put a problem I have with both of my Stingrays, or should I pur«t it on a diferent topic? Gunsfreddy, as to the springs you really need to take the pickup out. One other thing, do the pickups screws, screw directly to the wood or are there any metal inserts ( I had a Warwick SS2 that one of the metal threads came loose, so tighten the screw was uselles-I had to glue the thread back to the wood)

9. Hello Another bass I wanted to keep, but I just can´t... 1994 Fender Precision Bass 70´s reissue O serial number The bass is in very good condition with only a ding on the neck (back of the neck-in the middle), and for some reason the previous owner scrapped the "Made In japan" logo, leaving only the serial number.... The previous owner also wrote is name on the back of the neck (where it bolts to the body) and dug a small hole in the body so he could reach the Truss-rod... All the hardware still shines like it came from the factory yesterday! No dings on the body!!! Original pickup replaced by a 90´s Fender Original P-Bass Pickup (like this - http://www.amazon.co...k/dp/B0002KZB0W) Straight neck with no fretwear! I´m asking 500 pounds (shipping included) Feel free to ask any questions! Here are the pics Please check my feedback! Thank you

15.
Wonder why someone would do that, if that's the case though? Gav's impression would be useful. You're right about the thickness, I just thought mine was unusually thin but then, I've not actually seen any other pre-EB MM basses with ebony. If Stance has the patience to look (photograph?) down the neck from the body, on mine the maple/ebony joint is not flat but the maple has a crown and the ebony follows that with even thickness, if you see what I mean. For me, all this history adds to the character of a bass. Maybe there should be a new porn thread - MMs with ebony boards!
I just have to find the time
16. Hello 80´s Yamaha SHS-10 keytar. Very good condition - one of the strap buttons is missing. With power supply (can´t tell if it is original or not) for 230v. I´m asking 100 pounds (shipping included) Thanks PS Check my feedback

18. I know that the original owner was a famous portuguese luthier... So do you think that what I have is an original pre-eb fretless bass, converted to a fretted bass, by adding frets and dot markers?
19. Yes-on the edge and not where the fingerboard meets the neck (like my 88). Any ideas about what I got here?
