1. Hello Did you sold the bass? Thanks
 2.
I'm using the GK 700RB-ll, with an Ampeg SVT410HLF. My cab is 85 pounds. For me the head is worth every ounce, or what ever weight measurement you go by. I'd stick with the GK 700RB-ll.
I don´t plan to sell my GK- I´m just tired and getting old lol so a little less weight to carry around would be great! Thanks again for all the answers!
 3. Thanks everyone for all the input! I´m really concerned about Ampeg reliability nowadays... Never did anything I had from Ampeg left me down (but then again, I´m talking about american made products). I have my doubts about this China thing...
 4. Hey guys I´m tired of breaking my back carrying my GK 700RB-II /Ampeg 1X15 every weekend from gig to gig! I´m thinking on getting a lighter amp that would give me the sound I get from my GK. I´ve tried the Aguilar Tone Hammer, but it´s way to expensive. Tried the EBS, but didn´t liked it at all! For the money I want to spend I´m stuck with the PF500 or the MB500-the former I can try it here, but the GK doesn´t get imported to Portugal . Any thoughts on both of these class-D heads. I´m trying to maintain the sound I get from my GK700, but without all the Kgs! Thanks
 5.
Cool bass! No, I didn't know at all. Just had a wild guess after reading: I also guess you have an SVT from the seventies. How did I do?
lolol Sorry, but I haven´t been sleeping a lot lately so sometimes I make these stupid comments lol

 9.
I would recommed Phil Jones Bass for this bass - very clean and transparent tone.
Unfortunatelly it´s not available in Portugal...
 10. Thanks for the tip on the Superbooster! As to the bass/amp being faulty, I know for sure that both are in working order. I just can´t get the bass to sound as good in the amp as it does in the PA-through the amp the notes just don´t breathe.
 11.
Hi Alex, Welcome to BC! Yes, do learn here, and please also share your wisdom of 21 years. We need a picture of your Silvertone, or else it will forever stand as being this '67 Silvertone: Now you wouldn't want that, would you? Enjoy the site!
How do you know I´ve got a Silvertone?! lol It´s just like this one http://silvertoneguitar.net/silvertone-danelectro-bass-vintage-solid-body-60s/5180 It was my first bass - bought it for 20 pounds....
Hi neighbour, wellcome! Where are you from? Abraço
Boas, De Lisboa Thank you all!
 12. Hi everyone I need to amplify my Godin A4 fretless, but I don´t know what amp should I get. I want something that can faithfully reproduce this bass characteristic sound. I´ve tried to use the rig I normally use for the electric - GK 700 Rb - but it just sucks... I´m sure it´s a input impedance thing.. I´ve come across an old GK 200 MV - haven´t had the opportunity to try it, but the owner says it´s good for any acoustic instrument. Please let me know what you think, Cheers
 13. H there, My name is Alex, I´m from Portugal, and I`ve been playing bass since 1993. I dig vintage gear that´s why I have a couple (make that 5 70´s fenders), 2 80´s Stingrays and a 67 Silvertone (along with the usual suspect - Warwick) Amp wise I have a 70´s Ampeg SVT (That thing is HEAVY!!) and a 8x10,4x10, and 1x15 (all Ampeg-I should be sponsored lol), but due to its weight (or lack of it when compared to the SVT) I use a GK700RBII. Hope to have fun and learn some more about the art of bass and everything linked to it while I´m here! Cheers
