Also, and I know this isn't a bass but I have a Gorgeous Peavey EXP HP Signature 6 string guitar in cherry Sunburst A beautiful instrument with ebony fingerboard which plays like a 2 grand PRS i kid you not. They are between £399 and £450 to buy on the web depending where you look. Its in mint condition and in a very good hard case. I would suggest the used price on this is about 250 to 300 inc the hard case. I will sell for cash but would rather swap it for a 4 String bass of the same value, or even the Peavey and the Yamy 5 string together for something.
i dont think anyone would get £399 for one, £200-£300 is about right, so its a great price
I would think your right, However......
I think they may be made by the guy who trades as "Benton Music" on ebay, but I might be wrong! From what I recall, if it is him they are alder bodies.
I wonder if the Benton name refers to the Harley Bentons you can buyfrom Thoman. Maybe he buys them cos they are so cheap and mods them
Still available. Surely a bargain at £200!
I just bought one of these for a ridiculous low amount because the guy was extremely desperate. There is one for sale on ebay for £399 as I write this. They are worth well in excess of what your asking and whoever gets it will be getting a right bargain Ian
The Greenhouse, Didsbury Rd Stockport has a very large space for exactly that purpose, and I believe Mark (the owner) has opened up another place, G2 i think, not far from Every St in Ancoats (close to town centre) I'm sure they'll have a website. Mark is a decent guy and lots of big signed acts have used the facilities. I have too and they are good IMO. Jake If you have problems finding it let me PM me, I'd be able to get a number easily enough
Thanks for the info Jake Ian

Does anyone know of a room available for rehearsals anywhere in the Greater Manchester area big enough for us to set up a large 6K pa rig and a lighting rig so we can practice our stage show? At the moment we rehearse in a small room in Oldham and there is no way we can use it to set up all our gear. We are used to paying £30 a night Any info or help would be appreciated Ian
Original speaker would have been the Celestion 200W jobby, C15T-200 or something I think. £200 - go for it!
Managed to get it for £180 in the end. Had a look at the speaker and its an almost new Mackenzie 200 Watt. Its sounds great so I might not even bother changing it. Its in excellent condition and much easier to transport than my behringer head and Peavey 4x10 whichwill shortly be on Ebay Thanks everyone for the advice
£250 ish I would think.
I can have it for £200 so thats great then. Do you have any idea what the original speaker would have been? I was thinking it might be worth me fitting a JBL or a RCF in it
I saw The Platters in Douglas, Isle of Man in 1983 - were you playing with them there? I also saw The Frantic Elevators at The Apollo in Manchester many moons ago supporting Madness - did you play then?
No my brief associations with both bands consisted of some gigs in Germany with the Platters in 1982 and about 4 gigs with the Elevators in 1977/78 Pips nightclub in Manchester, The Ranch bar Manchester, and The Tower Club in Oldham at which the stage was invaded by Oldham rugby club who grabbed Mick and demanded he sing Yellow Submarine with them to which he readily agreed of course, well you would wouldn't you?
I genuinely think if you're serious about shifting stuff, you'll put up some pictures. Otherwise people will just not be interested. I don't think your connection will suffer too badly if you upload a few photos to an online hosting website such as imagecave.
I'll have a go, although computer and internet stuff isn't my strong point
