  1. Ian Allerton at Guitarworks just outside Ware is an excellent tech. I believe he's SG11 about 30 mins drive away from Epping.
  2. I gigged mine last night at a wedding because my Darkglass AO 500 is being serviced (thats for another thread) I agree with the above comments about having to boost the low end to get the oomph you need to drive a band out of the head. Through my Zilla 1x12 it was holding its own but if you play in a loud band or have a loud drummer it might start to run out of puff. Last nights venue was about the size of a basketball court with a high ceiling and the head did just fine. it does get rather hot even with the cooling fan on but nothing too crazy. For the money its a superb head that I have gigged many times and would warmly recommend to anyone as a backup head or a head for small gigs.
  3. I'm sorry for this. I wasn't trying to deceive anyone, I'll amend my post if I can.
  4. I can post but collection might be easier because of the weight of the item. Where about you based mate?
  5. For sale is my TC Electronic BC208 bass cab. Ideal for small acoustic type gigs and jam sessions and a doddle to carry with one hand because of the fantastic sturdy handle on top. I'm selling as I've recently upgraded. There is some wear on the cab as it has been gigged but nothing that affects it's performance at all. It's a great sounding cab that can even handle a B string at home practice volume. Would prefer cash/transfer but I am open to trades for equivalent value. Let me know what you've got! Collection from Hitchin SG4 Lewis
  6. Gibson Thunderbird purchased from Andertons at approximately 12 oclock. Straight back on the train to London to get to soundcheck in Covent Garden for 5pm, gig that night! Still had the sold stickers on the case haha! pro tip DON'T TAKE A THUNDERBIRD IN HARD CASE UP THE STAIRS!
  7. Hi mate sorry about the late reply! Yes it is a custom order, I believe its the bass variation on their 1x12 guitar cab model. After a bit of discussion with Paul this is what he suggested would meet my needs (he wasn't wrong) The driver is a BN12-300S 8ohm version but Paul mentioned he stocks the 4 ohm one also. I'm sure they would be able to source other speakers Lewis
  8. As someone that has purchased a Zilla cab recently they are absolutely still going! Customer service was second to none. If you scroll back in this forum my post should about it should be in there
  9. I forgot to post! Amazing sound last night! Once I had a chance to dial in the EQ it had a surprising amount of bottom end and loads of volume as the amp was on maybe 3/10. I haven't had a new cab for years so it took a bit of time to adjust but once the gig got going it was just a joy to play through! Apart from checking the cab at bedroom volume it was the first time I've had it at proper volume so the speaker will obviously take a bit of time to burn in. Cannot recommend Zilla more, the whole process has been excellent!
  10. I will let you know! It is due to arrive on Thursday
  11. That cab looks UNREAL!! I wonder if Paul would be able to re house that Ashdown head to match!
  12. New cab on its way!!! Custom Zilla 1x12 in the colours of my beloved Watford Football Club! Cannot wait to try it out! I must say the service from Zilla has been second to none from the first conversation throughout the process. Paul is extremely knowledgeable and very easy to deal with. COYH
  13. I tried another active bass through the pedal and the same thing happened. Must be something to do with the way the power supply reacts to the pedal
  14. For sale is this Marshall B25 MK II practice amp. Perfect for beginners or as a bench amp for techs. It has two inputs so can also be used for home teaching or testing out tones from two basses. The amp is quite quiet and the pots are a little scratchy, also pictured is a missing handle guard. £30 and it's yours Collection from Hitchin would be ideal as the amp is quite heavy.
  15. For Sale Edirol active studio monitors perfect for a small home studio. Included is the power supply and connecting cable. The speakers have a headphone out for silent practice and a simple to use 2 band EQ. Will post at buyers expense or collect in person from Hitchin.
  16. For sale is this wonderful Arturia Microbrute Synth. I'm selling as I am looking to make my setup more compact. The synth has no presets which in my opinion is a great thing because it forces you to be creative! Only used live a handful of times. The power supply works but the connection has a slight bit of damage so if this synth is going to go on the road a new power supply would be needed. Can ship at buyers expense or collect from Hitchin SG4
  17. Just tried two different tuners (Landlord FX and Behringer TU300) and neither of them did the same thing as the BOSS. There was a bit of power supply click from the Landlord FX but nothing to serious.
  18. I am running the pedal from my Truetone CS6 power supply
  19. It's a valid question but yes I have tried that. It's not a massive issue to be honest it's just a bit surprising as to why it's happening
  20. I just changed the electronics in the bass and it still happens. It's not too bad or noticeable just a bit frustrating as it shouldn't happen. I will try with some other tuners and check if it still happens. It may be an issue with my TU3
  21. Liana is a great bass player! She was in my year at uni on my higher diploma course! Saw her at Reading festival as well a few years ago now. Great post
  22. Thank you for your responses. I am very responsible in regards to turning the amp off or unplugging a cable. As @simon88wilson mentioned the tuner is engaged when this is happening which should stop any signal going to the amp
  23. MTD KZ4 -> Boss TU3. I've had problems when unplugging this bass in the past. When I unplug the bass with the tuner engaged there is a thump sound a bit like a kick drum which comes through the amp. I'm going to take it to my local tech soon but any advice would be appreciated.
