1.
£1200-£1300 :)
Thanks man!

Hmm I thought it might be worth a tad more but that was close to my valuation. I was thinking more around £1400, especially considering the rarity of lefties.

    Here's a few pics:

EDIT: No longer for sale, see below.

  2. Hi guys. Pains to to do this but I may have to sell my 1979 Pre-EB Ray. Its in really good condition, only a few dings and none of them major. The E tuner was replaced a while ago with a d-tuner but apart from that it's all original- even has the dying remains of the bridge mutes! I was wondering if any of you could help me in thinking of a price?

    Josh

  3. Love Warwick. Really miss my first Streamer Jazzman, but now have a Thumb BO which is simply fantastic.
The thing I love about Warwick is that the tones from the amazing growl (beats any Jazz IMO) to the upper registers feel really organic. It's supposed to just be marketing but I personally can really hear "the sound of wood" :)

  4. As title, Sansamp BDDI for trade for an M80. Bit of a longshot but worth a go :) Going by the amount these pedals sell for the BDDI seems to be worth about a tenner more but I'm looking for a straight trade in order to entice a deal.

Nowt wrong with pedal, comes with slightly battered box and has had the little rubber feet taken off and velcro applied instead which obviously isn't a massive issue. Pics when I get back from band practice tonight.

  5. Only had this for about 6 months, Ampeg BSE 4x10 HLF cab, like the B series but is the BSE range meaning (as I understand it) upgraded drivers in the cab. I can attest to its great sound, however I'm now looking for a more mid-heavy cab.

This cab has a massive arse end, it's ridiculous. Even if I wanted to add another cab I certainly wouldn't add a 1x15 as it just doesn't need it.

This is 4Ohms and (I believe) 400w- I will check this on Monday when I go to my practice room. New it was around £500 but I'm wanting a quick sale. Considering its only 6 months old and in good condition, I'd say about [s]£300[/s] [s]£275[/s] [s]£250[/s] [s]£225[/s] SOLD.

One slight niggle with this cab is that the castors come out pretty easily and are prone to drop out if you lift the cab. Don't know how big an issue this is but to be honest picking the castors up again is a minor inconvenience even if you're moving the cab quite regularly.

Pickup only please, I don't want to post the cab really as I have no idea how to package them.

  6.
Hi!

I've been interested in this as well, not heard any clips or anything yet though, so I guess I've just been waiting for that. Big fan of Tech 21's pedals in general though. What else is it that you've tried that it's so different from?

    Also, Kent, nice one :)
Yay for youtube

  7.

Hey guys, bought this maybe 7 months ago with the intention of learning guitar alongside bass but I think bass is my true love :) Really nice guitar but its just sat about doing nothing, here's a video review of the same model online so you can get a taste, this guy can describe it way better than I can:

Restrung it relatively recently too so sounding lubberly

    Looking for [s]£250[/s] £200

  8.
Genuine question EBS_freak - how do you believe they are ?
Mm, not quite sure why there is suddenly all this vitriol directed against the Mods all of a sudden- surely this isn't a big issue (The Marcus situation I mean)?!

  9.
A lot of it is down to the sound-guy and how he arranges and finds space for similar frequencies which may emanate from different instruments. But for our purposes, in situations where sound engineering may not be available or possible, bass frequencies don't travel through "band air" as well as higher frequencies do so if you had a bass like a Stingray or backline that produce more mid frequencies than normal yet not overpoweringly so it seems to piggyback the bass frequencies into your audiences ears. I used to have a lovely Schroeder cab which when played quietly at home sounded too mid humpy it almost hurt yet at gigging level it projected my sound beautifully and filled the venue without emphasising the mids. I don't know why.
+1

I've often EQ'd on the fly in a band practice to a point where it sounds great and cuts through brilliantly, only to then play with the same settings by myself and it sounding like a horrible honking mess. I find that my ability to cut through is impacted most, not by my rig, but by what frequencies the other instruments have decided to occupy. From there on you've gotta tailor your sound to a nice gap in between and hope that the end result is a good un. I find good bass tones often cut through great when you're recording but will just get bullied out of the way by the guitars when played live unless you do some tweaking.

  10. +1 to most of what's being said, I'd only ever use a tab now as a vague guideline as to what to play, not note for note what it should be.

They're great when you're learning to play bass but when the tab is for anything more complex than smoke on the water you tend to just get what the tabber approximates the original musician to be playing, not the bass line itself. I find that most (Note: not all :) ) people who write the tabs aren't brilliant musicians so if they can't replicate it you'll just get the tab telling you to strum the root for 4 bars

  11. I've tried all three models.

Corvette is decent if only for its lower price, a solid bass.
Streamers are really well balanced, wonderful basses with a great tone
Thumbs are the ultimate in the "Warwick sound" that I hear in my head, growly growly, however they have a few negatives such as weight (despite having such a small body the wood is incredibly dense) and balance issues (likes to be parallel with the floor)

Thumbs are better than Streamers for slap IMO.

My personal preference is for Thumbs, however Streamers are a close second. I'd say Streamers are slightly more versatile given the wide range of electronics available for them.

I'd definitely recommend second hand as their resale value seems to be really low at the moment (for instance, I've bought two different Streamer Jazzman 5ers for £500 in the past and my Thumb was £600)

  12.
No takers? :)
Don't worry man, it's just because second hand Warwick prices are quite low at the moment. For what it's worth, I think a bass that's this new in this condition may very well reach around the price you're asking, but older and more used Thumbs generally go for a bit less. I'll send you a PM with some other examples of Thumbs that have sold

  13. I unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to talk to Si at any great length, though I thoroughly enjoyed reading nearly every post he made. I was really quite shocked when I read the post in the other thread, and despite having exchanged no more than a few words I feel a great sorrow at knowing he is no longer around.

If there are any plans for a collection or similar then please let me know.

  14.
Sorry, the ones I've already got are useless so I'll take some new tomorrow !
I've seen and played it and its lubberly :) Wish I could get away with it in my band haha
