just a quick add, I'd personally say that if you're looking for a range of tones the Lakland will probably suit you more. In my experience I've found rays to be one trick ponies. Thing is, they do said trick fantastically

brilliant and brilliant. Sorry, but they're both fantastic basses

great price and a brilliant cab, can't recommend these enough

from my experience transistors are about £15 each and my head had 10 to replace to depends on what the head has inside and whether you think its worth it

You know what, I'm gonna leave this- I think 5im0n can quite easily show you where you're going wrong by himself, sorry for butting in on this [i]public forum[/i]. I didn't realise it was a private conversation?!

if I recall correctly the K5 is Fieldy's (bassist from Korn) signature bass so if you're wanting that kind of tone (more scoop than and ice cream shop) then it'll be fine, couldn't say how good it is at other types of music though. There are loooooads of 5 strings at decent prices-

What tone are you going for?
Do you prefer small or chunky necks?
What kind of music do you play?

All questions to which the answers will help you find the bass you want

but as other people are saying, just because they work in your cab doesn't mean they'll work in the OP's

An unexpected drain on my finances has occured and as such I now need to offload some of my gear. As such I am forced to sell my Jazzman which I have had for just under a month. The bass had a faulty preamp when I bought it and as such I have replaced it with an ACG 4K/PT with a low battery indicator (LED that flashes when battery is running out).
The body is in OK condition but not perfect. There is a patch in the finish in the slap/pop locations and also under the bridge by the preamp. Apart from that there are a few small dings in the wood and a little bit of buckle rash.

I bought this bass for £530. The preamp plus battery indicator plus fitting came to just over £260

My asking price is £750 plus P+P

I will be listing this on ebay at 99p no reserve but will pull it if someone on here wants it or if it doesn't reach around my asking price because I'm an unscrupulous bastard.

Whoever is on the trumpet (I assume?) at about 1.35 sounded awful. Didn't think the sax was that bad (though obviously not perfect). The rest of the band, or at least the parts I could hear, sounded great though!

I'd agree with your diagnoses that the brass is letting down the band. The aformentioned bit at 1.35 really stuck in my head and marred what is, to my ears, a good song.

The way I see it, if the creators of basschat wanted it to include other instruments as well it wouldn't be called basschat.
