    Fender P neck 1976, I believe this to be originally fretless as the side dots are directly over the fret lines, Brass dots have ben professionally fitted into the ebony fret board. Neck plays great with no issues, all machine heads are original how ever the string tree has been moved at some point, but never less it plays and sounds excellent. Not sure the back ground on the body but it has plenty of digs and certainly looks the part. The pickups are 1970's Dimarzio with adjustable pole pieces so you can get the volume balance exactly how you want it from string to string. The pick guard was one I had lying around. Now the preamp is an Audere Z mode 3 band eq, love these and stick them in all my Jazz's.     For sale is a mint condition Mexican Precision special, Part of there deluxe range, only about 6 months old, took as a part exchange from a newbie on here. Dark metallic blue with a brass look scratch plate 3 band eq rosewood board jazz bar at the rear and a p pickup up front, I am reaaly inpressed with the sound and weight of it, just set up with new strings, it really is the best of both worlds. I only got it to speed up the selling of the Siggery so now it's time to claw back as much of what it owes me as I can. I will let it go for £400 + £20 postage, although collection is more than welcome. You can pick them up new for about £550 but it ain't gonna play like this does now. For sale is my2000/ 2001 MIM Fender Jazz 5 string in the strikingly beautiful and (sadly) discontinued Agave Blue finish. This is the original run of the MIM Jazz 5-ers which are quite cool and have a few distinct design differences from the current version which I think make this bass special. They are: Headstock is a streamlined 5-in line headstock vs. the 4+1 featured in the current model. A long straight "three in the tree" string tree for the A-G strings vs the standard two string tree on the newer versions. The finishes on the old run were more varied. This one is agave blue. Current models only come in Sunburst and Black The bass itself is a wonderful player and in really great condition. Good balance and not that much heavier than a standard Jazz 4 if at all. The neck feels good and fender really got it right on the string spacing. Does not feel cramped. sake of being very thorough here is a description of each one... I have tried numerous Stingrays before, and they were ok. Brilliant even, some of them. But not enough to make me feel my OLP was not quite right. I even joked my new Stingray would be the backup of my OLP! Well. Today... Today things changed. Today I used the Stingray at a proper rehearsal. At last. Been leaving it at home too long, what with changing preamp etc. No home-friendly volume anymore. Same place where I've played my OLP a million times, same room, same amp, same everything. And the Stingray felt BIGGER, powerful, really tight lows, punchy. Just like the OLP, in fact No, just kidding... the OLP sounds great, but the Stingray sounded... clearly better. It just had a definition and body that I haven't obtained from my OLP before. My bandmates agreed. Interestingly, I didn't touch the mid control, so I was playing it purely as a 2EQ (although I do feel the John East preamp produced tighter lows than the original). So it turns out that whilst at moderate volumes there isn't too much difference... once you turn up the volume, the Stingray comes ahead and wins the race easily. I'm upset. :wacko: I loved being able to prefer the cheaper version, purely on playability and sound alone. But it turns out I'm going to end up putting the Stingray on top just like all those snobs out there I still love the OLPs... But the Stingray really is something else. So there, I said it. A MM Stingray is better after all than a souped up OLP. (but OLPs are still great!!!) EDIT: For Saturday's gig I will use the Stingray now. I suspect it's going to be my main bass from now on.[/quote] The big question is 6 x the money ,6 x as good????????????
