1. Good morning BassChat fellas and Ibanez lovers Just uploaded a couple of short videos with my BTB during some practicing in my studio and I would like to share with you all. The first one is about dubbing a sax line, I like how the BTB sounds on a horn unison, a punchy depth tone with crispy highs.. The second using the muting bass on a funky groove, a very aggressive tone despite the palm muting technique Hope you guys will enjoy it! Ciao. Enrico
2.
I wish they still made the 4 string version Funny to think that when they were introduced they were aimed at the drop-tuned metal players!
I agree with you man, a four strings would be nice. Definitely, at the begin it was highly considered for rock and metal players, I remember that
3.
Nice, it is really amazing how Ibanez can make these high quality basses for a fraction of what you would pay "boutique". Have had BTB gas for a while now, this is not helping Did you keep the stock preamp or did you upgrade that too?
Hey man, I'm happy you like the video and I definitely agree with you, the money they ask for these basses are worth to the last cent because the ratio quality/price is awesome. Another thing that is very good on this bass is the preamp, it was already good with the Nordstrand, even if they aren't my favorite pups, so I kept it. When you set the preamp flat and you switch it off, the tone is equal, so with the EMG now, with preamp off the tone is perfect for standard fingerstyle and, this let me set already the preamp for a different tone, slap, solos or anything else, just with the switch, and make a bit easier the live scenario..
4. Good morning BassChat friends, I recently upgraded my Ibanez BTB 1605 with a couple of EMG 40DC and I uploaded two new videos testing how the pups sounds in a solo and in groove scenario: the first one, a bass cover by Marcus Miller - Mr Pastorius: the second one, a bass recording session: Ciao. Enrico
5. The second generation of the "P" TRBs was definitely the best one. Amazing basses. Free bump for you.
6. What a bass!!! the fingerboard seems to be the wide one, 19mm isn't it? Free bump for you!
7. Good morning BassChat fellas, I recently joined the Ibanez family and I would like to share a couple of new videos recorded with a brand new Ibanez BTB 1605 DTF, the first one recorded in my studio: the second one, (I'm sorry iPhone quality) was shot on the road in a small venue gig: http://www.facebook....595835310456813 Happy Holidays! 8. You need to develop at the same time sight reading and rhythm reading. I will suggest the best two books in my opinion, for this purpose: - SIGHT READING FOR THE BASS http://www.bassbooks.com/shopping/products/179-sight-reading-for-the-bass/?bc=no?bc=no - MODERN READING TEXT 4/4 http://www.bassbooks.com/shopping/products/297-modern-reading-text-44/?bc=no They are suitable for beginner to advance, because the way how these books are written that make them best. It's a real step by step development process. So, if you study on it gradually, without skip pages and chapters you'll become a reading machine. The other important thing about accomplish this task is perseverance, if you practice even 10 minutes every day, you can't imagine how good you'll become on reading music. If you need any other help just let me know. Cheers. Enrico
9.
...and very tasty bass and tasty playing it has, too!
thank you jim!
10. Dear friends here a new video just uploaded with my Fasanaro J5 from a short studio session:
11.
I have 2 I disagree. The choice of gig bags that actually fit in it is limited. Two times the latches have come undone in transit, despite them being padlocked. The new version with the strap is useless. The strap 'lock' comes open of its own accord.
I agree with you about the limited choice for the gig bag, but it's not so limited, you just need to do a detailed research, I use both a Levy double gig bags and a medium single gig bag, never had problem to fit in. About the latches just depend on what kind of locks you use and how do you use. I use very small ones and it seems to be the best solutions. I had some doubts too about the new versions but i spoke with a friend an he said that didn't have bad experience yet.
12. SInce ten years ago I found the best solution in my opinion, to flight without any worries, check this out: http://www.skbcases.com/music/products/proddetail.php?f=&id=13&o=&offset=&c=75&s=75 I always use this solution. Never had bad experiences. Hope this helps. Cheers.

15. Dear bass fellas, recently, I've been involved as bass tester by the team of the important italian resource for guitar and bass players, the Accordo magazine. I had so much fun testing and, recording several videos about new basses available on the market. Each audio clip was recorded directly from the new smallest Aguilar amp, the Tone Hammer 350. I can truly say that, the word "small" fits only the sizes of this amp because, the punch coming from this little toy, was fantastic! Below, the videos, the editorial team published so far. The clips are short and played with a couple of different techniques (at least), to give you just a general idea how the bass sounds Keep checking, more tests will come.
