  1. Allowing for the angle the photo was taken at, the bass appears to have an action you can drive a bus under. It might be that the truss rod just needs adjustment but if not, the neck could be sha99ed
  2. The tiny Roland Microcube Bass RX practice amp is a little wonder. It is perfect for low volume home practice, but can be loud enough for accompanying unamplified acoustic guitars & cajon, can be powered by batteries, and to my ears sounds exponentially better than any similarly sized practice amp I have heard — and it is good enough for recording.
  3. Gotoh reso-lite GB640 Hipshot HB7 lollipop
  4. Always on the Run - Lenny Kravitz
  5. Greasy Legs - George Harrison
  6. Baby Cakes - Maxine Brown
  7. I usually just boost the mids a little. If it sounds a bit brittle I might cut the upper mids a little
  8. I have a Squier Classic Vibe Mustang bass three Fender JMJ mustang basses, a Fender CIJ Mustang and a Fender Vintera Mustang Bass. The Classic vibe is a great bass and I've happily gigged with it, but even though it has a vintera mustang pickup in it it is still outclassed by the Fenders. The competition orange finish looks fantastic though.
  9. Absolutely Free - Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention
  10. The Ballad of John & Yoko - The Beatles
  11. I use these ones from amazon: https://amzn.to/46GBVFa currently £13 for six. Although they're cheap and I've reconfigured my board a few times, I've never had any issues with them.
  12. Is it to make the same bass look cheap when offered for £495 below?
  13. At home I use either the Roland bass microcube RX or Boss Waza air bass headphones.
  14. After relying on my clip-on tuners for a very long time, I've recently put a Boss TU-3 on my pedalboard. It is rock solid, accurate and reliable.
  15. We're bass players not lead guitarists
  16. Innocence Decayed - The Residents
  17. Peaches - The Stranglers or: Peaches - Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band
  18. I doubt any of our punters would notice what I'm playing even if I left my bass at home and played a kazoo instead.
  19. Send Me A Postcard - Shocking Blue
  20. Planet Waves has always been a D'Addario sub-brand. If it has a lifetime warranty its probably worth contacting them via the link at the bottom of https://www.daddario.com/ If it has failed at one end, I would snip off the dodgy connector an inch or so from the end & solder on a neutrik.
  21. I have a CR5M which comes with the heavier tilt-back stand which is great. I've not had ant problems with it but this solution to replacing the bolt is inspired.
  22. I am looking to get a bass body refinished. The body has an existing roadworn factory nitro finish and will be sent for the refinish with all hardware removed. What names should I be looking at, where in the country are they based, and what are they likely to charge? I've not decided on a colour yet, but I'm leaning towards candy apple red, so doing it on the cheap with rattle cans probably won't cut it.
