  1. I bought a L/H Squire vintage modified Jazz a couple of years ago, it is a great gigging bass, I did change the strings and bridge though,( D`Adario XL`s and a Schaller 3 D roller bridge) the fit and finish on my bass is the equal to any Fender that I have seen upto the american standards!
  2. Hi to another leftie, I too have a Squire Vintage Mod Jazz what great bass for the money !!
  3. [attachment=105963:P1000844_edited.JPG]They simply play way way beyond their price range, I`ve had mine about 3 years and its my main gigging bass, the electrics have been modified though, Seymor Duncan Basslines p/u plus Seymor Duncan Steve Bailey fretless tone circuit and a type`A` Hipshot bridge
  4. used to have a white Tokei Precision way back wish I still had it ,was agreat bass, in the attic is a L/H Shergold Marathon twin neck fretless plus 8 string I must restore it some day, great sound but i`s like having a warbrobe around your neck, any way happy gigging!
  5. Just read your review, I must agree on all accounts, I have used this combo at several acoustic outdoor events using a NS EUB with great success! quite unbeleivable for the size.
  6. This is just a great playable bass with a superb neck, the sound has been improved beyond belief by fitting a Seymor Duncan Basslines Musicman replacement pick-up together with a Seymor Duncan Steve Bailey fretless tone circuit also fitted is a type `A` Hipshot bridge and Schaller tuners the bass is a Hudson 5string fretless(identicle to a Tanglewood Canyon III/Cort Curbow)[attachment=105629:P1000844_edited.JPG]
  7. Here`s some photos of my gigging basses and rig, the main gigging basses are the customised Hudson 5 string fretless, NS NXT and the Squire vintage modified Jazz!
  8. Hi Geoff, before this rig I used to use an EA VL 208 and a 15" matching cab !,great sound but it was like hauling lead weights around!
  9. sorry but there sould be only one photo, pressed button twice, must be me age!!
  10. [attachment=105489:P1000846_edited.JPG][attachment=105489:P1000846_edited.JPG]I thought this might a good opportunity to show the rig I`m now using, comprising; a EA Micro 550w amp, 2x Hartke HX 112 300w cabs these cabs have both switchable horns and selectable between 4 and 8ohms, they also weigh a meagre 28Ibs each, the sound from this set up is warm ,clear, focused but with a controlled brightness, might be worth trying!
  11. Hi I`m Stu from Bexhill East Sussex, currently playing in 2 bands, my basses are, 5 string Hudson fretless with a Seymore Duncan Basslines Musicman pick up and Steve Bailey fretless tone circuit, and Hipshot A bridge fitted, great sounding bass with a superb neck! a NS NXT 4 string EUB, Danelectric fretless, and a Squire vintage modified Jazz, all of these are lefthanded, for studio I will often use a PJB Cub combo a superb little combo this, main rig is a EA micro 550w head with 2x Hartke Hydrive HX 112 cabs, can`t carry any heavey weights anymore, I love playing bass and have done so from the age of 12, thanks for the replies I will endeavour to get some pics of gear soon!
  12. I use a EA Micro 550 amp with 2 x Hartke Hydrive HX112 cabs, this little cabs weigh in at about 28lbs each have swichable horns and are switchable between 4 and 8ohms, everybody that hears them sayes the sound warm, tight and controlled! I play a fretless 5 string and a EUB through these, I mount the cabs on a Audiolex acoustic platform, one of the cabs has a SWR type flip stand underneath to enable it to be tilted back, these cabs are worth trying out!!
