Sounds like normal stainless Roto's, to me they always feel very rough compared to nickel rounds will chew your fingers and frets.

[/quote] Battery powered pc speakers work with the amplug but might not be loud enough for what you want or vox do a speaker for the amplug.

[/quote] Depends on what you play & how the 4 is tuned, a lot of metal written in Drop C/C# isn't going to be playable on a 5 without detuning it to something like BCGCF and screwing up the tension, my life would be much easier if a 5 covered everything but unfortuantly it doesn't.

I've gone back to 4s, I find 4's easy to play and even with a 5 I still needed another bass in Drop C so I've ended up with two identical bases one in E/Drop D & one in Drop C.

Whatever I can get cheap, currently Fender 7250's, before that Roto's, as long as they still sound bright I'm not that picky, I can't stand dead strings.
