1.
Nice score. I have the same in a natural finish. Lovely bass, delivering waaaaay more than it's paltry market value suggests in both playability and tone.
I was looking at a natural finish because i couldn't source a black one anywhere, they do look amazing though.
 2. I finally paid out for one after about 6 months of being on the fence. It's looks so nice and plays really well. Bought it on Basschat courtesy of PaulPirie8 for £150 including a hardcase. Some pictures below : Yin & Yang There is a small crack in the neck & its been sanded down to see the extent of the damage but its really minor: All in all a brilliant purchase! Thanks, Sam
 3. With all this talk of dots, would anyone like a game of Dominoes?
 4.
The drummer will dissapear just before you go on. This is anavoidable. Don't panic, just go find him.
Happened to me last week. Also, Good luck at your first gig man, it's cool that you're doing a Seattle tribute, We play aneurysm in our set
 5. Depending on if the finish is consistent under the pickguard. TAKE THE PICKGUARD OFF! A friend has a black TB48, got it cheap after a guy tried to "relic" it. It's no longer glossed & the guy took a belt sander to the wood under the pickguard. I wasn't best pleased.
 6.
I haven't had a new bass day in three years, it's great! Haha. I'm adjusting to the weight and the thickness, and it's not as bad as I thought. Just need to find a bag or case big enough now because none of the ones I own are big enough. Oops.
That's another thing. They're really awkward to carry. The sound of mine & a VT Bass makes up for everything though

 8. £160 is a bargain for one. the neck dive is an issue though, you get used to it though. Happy New Bass Day
 9. Gain at 9 o'clock, Bass at 10 o'clock High & Low mids at 8:45 and 10:22 respectively.
 10.
Just had the fortune of playing through the Rumble 40 at Wunjo's on Denmark St. One word - incredible. First things first it really does weigh nothing. It reminded me of the tiny 15 watt guitar combos my band used to practice with a decade ago, it was unbelievable. The sound was impressive, the built in voicings (Vintage and Bright) were effective and allowed for tones that ranged from full on dub to slightly driven tube on the Vintage setting, and then a really nice slap tone with the bright switch engaged. I didn't really play with the EQ because it sounded great flat, and the output seemed fine, although again i didn't push the master past halfway. All in all, very impressive for the price, great tone, amazing look, and a crazy lightweight box. EDIT: and after checking in with Ms Yellow I have just bought it
Brilliant! Thankyou for the mini review! Looking forward to Payday now.
 11.
So, I went to the GAK Centre down in Brighton. You may remember I was thinking about a through-neck bass, either a Peavey Grind or a Washburn T24. From that you'd think I like modern design, subtle looks and natural wood finish. So I came back with this... My little boy likes it too! A huge thank you to the team (especially James) down at GAK in North Road Brighton who let me play damn-near everything in the shop, even with my little boy in tow (He was as good as gold. Well, nearly. He certainly didn't touch or break anything.).
+9, couldn't have picked a better bass.
 12. Found it! Thread here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/222191-just-completed-my-retro-1970s-gibson-epi-thunderbird-project/
 13.
It looks nice. Is it a neck through Epiphone I wonder? Could be worth a go. Probably better than the modern 'real' thing?
It seems to be bolt on. (Bolt On IV's have the input jack on the face of the body, by the Tone & Volume pots) This seems too familiar..
 14. Wasn't this a BC'ers project? If so, anyone know who it was? http://www.gumtree.com/p/guitars/gibson-epiphone-thunderbird-1970-s-replica/1048063272
 15.
The fact that they are chrome and not that horrible plastic black is good enough for me.
I dig the black
 16.
As this is a finishing thread I'll make my usual 'what finish' suggestion....
+9
 17.
Has "proper" looking pickups though.
Missing the rings, although the 70's pickups were more squared, right?
 18. Actually just realised it's in Japan. I'm still asleep.

 20. I love that Vintage V1004. I like the look of unlined fretless necks.

 22. I think I'm gonna opt for a Rumble 40.
 23. I wish it had an effects loop
 24. The new Rumble 40 seems a viable option but the lack of FX loop & being only 5 watts more, would it be loud enough?
