  1. Well, there is something in the Kawai which I found very seducing, even more so than the Wal....
I didn' t post it in the basses for sale around here since over here you have to pay and in Germany, Belgium of France you don't...

  2. Had a lot of fretless basses the past years but recently sold my fretless Wal because this 400 euros second-hand Kawai just blew me away...
Best fretless I have ever had, something about the very fast neck, the nylon strings and the electronics (a switch with three presets, very useable).
Had never played one before so just gave it a lucky shot when I saw this second hand and I'm very glad I followed my intuition
Looks great too imo (mixture of Alembic, Wal, Jaydee, I don't know)

  3. Used to work in a music shop in Belgium and this one was always great to play, a rare white Steinberger Elite with a D-tuner. A couple of weeks ago the shop closed and I got to buy this for a price which was affordable (2127 euros was a bit too much before the shop closed but I got it brandnew now for 1200 euros)
My cat is cross-eyed since an accident by the way (glad he survived it)

  4. His sound is pretty much which you can get out of a Pedulla....don't think you need any effects because of the smooth fingerboard. I had a Pedulla once and this was what I got out of it (tone control however closed)

  5. Saw this last week somewhere else on the internet and it blew me away because of the sound of the Pedulla and the joy and energy which comes through in this video..
Always has been one of my alltime favourites anyway (nothing beats this when you're driving home late at night and this comes on the radio)

  6. This sort of sound still is my favourite...right in your face (hit me like a truck at the time)

I thought that sounded pretty good, for a quick backstage bash...I've heard worse!

I can understand the circumstances but even live imo it misses warmth...seen them around 25 times and nothing beats the old Jaydee.

  8. I'm a huge King fan but can't believe how terrible his Status sounds in the clip above my post..strings seem to be dead too while he gets them for free and can be replaced in a second. Weird how he prefers this sound after all the basses he's been through.

  9. It's meant for someone who has a fretless bass and wonders how it can be played....like I said : it has nothing to do with me, it might be helpful, who knows. The feedback showed me that it turned out to be handy for others. I don' t need approval, that's not why I play music, I just like the sound of a bass.

  10. I think it's sometimes a great idea...you have the luxury of hearing the bass louder than in the original mix and you get a glimpse of how it's played, how cool is that...
I'm guilty myself of posting this one...it's meant to be helpful, has nothing to do with my ego (I'm 51 and bald...it's too late for that)

  11. Once had to take my cat to the vet but she was really wild so I had loads of clothes on and gloves...Tried for a really long time to get her inside a cage but didn't work.
Luckily I had a guitar-amp in the hallway and she crawled inside of it....closed the cover with the zipper and took the amp to the vet. Funny looks in the waitingroom...

  12. Always been a huge Police-fan so when they did their reunion-tour I was so much looking forward to it...
Turned out to be such a disappointment....terrible live-sound, support-act Fiction Plane (Sting's son) was mùch better and Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland were half the great musicians I expected them to be. Sting couldn't reach the high notes any more.. Wish I had never seen it.
