1. Hi D. Yeah, no problem, dude. It's 96mm on it's longest side by 26mm at it's widest. I say it this way as (you'll know this), the PCB's shape looks like two rectangles (one thinner than the other), stuck together. The other end's width is 14.5mm. Sorry for the rubbish explanation, not my strongest point! Does this help? Regards Freddy

4. Hi all, Anyone interested in Yamaha Motion B111 (made in Japan, approx. 1987)? It's in Basses for sale> Thanks for looking Freddy
5. Hello! I bought this a couple of months ago to store and protect my combo, but the best thing is that you can use it to lift your rig off the floor and have it at chest level, helps out so much; “I can hear”!!! Also, you don’t appear to lose too much bottom end (contentious issue here, but…). This thing fits my combo so well (to say it wasn't made for it), with a small amount of room to put your kit in (see pics. combo and kit are not included, neither is the dining room!) at the side and about 3cm on the top. Unfortunately, a downsize move and no car forces sale (plus I'm looking for a four string fretless - poss trade?) It’s in great nick bar a few marks (it is a flight case…) and has these features: · Fully cased · Foam lined · Wheeled · Twin brakes · Two lockable catches (on opposite sides) · Four sprung handles · Not too heavy These are the measurements: (External) 81cm wide/across 63cm high 60cm depth (front to back) (Internal, measured from foam) 68.5cm wide/across 63cm high 51cm depth (front to back) 46cm high (lid) 8cm high (rolling base) I’m asking [s]£150 (ono)[/s] [s]NOW £120[/s] NOW £100 (new you’re looking around £260+). Carriage would be at buyer's expense. Best regards and thanks for looking Freddy

7. Had some interest, but still here. Have a good weekend and thanks for looking Freddy
8. Happy New Year! I’ve been trying out various strings (the eternal quest…), gone full circle and have some sets that I’ve had on my bass for about a week each. Needless to say, they have seen hardly any use. Cheap and worth a punt if you fancy trying something new out: (All Long scale) ***Sold***Labella Deep Talkin’ Bass - White Nylon Tape Wound (750T) 50, 65, 85, 105 on for around four days, one gig - £15 posted within UK ***sold***GHS Round Core Boomers – Roundwound Nickel (RC – L3045) 40-95 (bought at the end of November, on for three days) - £15 posted within UK ***sold***Fender Stainless Steel Flatwounds – Custom Light (9050CL) 45 – 105, used for around three weeks, one gig - £6 posted within UK Best regards and thanks for looking Freddy
9. Hello and Happy New Year! I’m having a clear out to raise funds for the next bass… All the stuff I’m flogging below is in great nick (some unused) and works perfectly. Some of the bits have been on a bass I had put together which sat in its case doing nothing. It got dismantled and the parts have been sat in bags in a drawer: Various parts for J-Bass upgrade to black hardware · SOLD Black (tall) string guide (with screw) mint: £3

Set of three black chrome (on brass) knurled, dome top knobs. cost £6 each, great quality, look the dogs! (pictured on black control plate) £9 (£20 with plate, posted to UK???)
· Black Jazz bass control plate (N.B. Plate only! Pic shows plate with knobs, screws and loom) £12 · Oval (Blk) jack socket plate for side mounting (still packaged): £3 · Black (on brass) neck plate (Gotoh, I think) with cushion and four black screws. Has a two tiny marks: £9 · SOLD Set of black screws (pickguard) £3 · SOLD Knurled, dome top chrome (brass), upper and lower dual concentric knob (grub screw fitting) mint: £4 · Rear control cavity plate (flat black), shielded: £3 Best regards and thanks for looking Freddy
10. Happy New Year! I’m having a clear out to raise funds for a new bass so I’m selling a mint ACG (made by John East) 02 Pre-Amp (includes): · additional passive tone (purchased from John East) · extra set of black chrome dual-concentric knobs. (N.B. there is no knob for the passive tone) I got this in a trade a while back. It’s in great condition and works perfectly. I’ve added the passive tone which is a brilliant addition to the unit. The range of sounds you can get from Scooped through to dub is awesome with some really unusual sounds (I’d planned to put it on a fretless, which would work a treat!). This is a ‘filter-based’ pre-amp and pretty similar to that found on a Wal or an Alembic, but for much less cash! Although a bit fiddly at first, once you get into it the pre-amp works incredibly well and feels more articulate than say, an Aguilar OBP-1 or a John East J-Retro (my only two examples that I can compare). The pre-amp complements the pickups well and doesn't take away from the instruments character, it just adds. A top piece of kit! Here’s the blurb form ACG: http://acguitars.co....2Manual2009.pdf I’m asking £120 for the lot. Best regards and thanks for looking Freddy
11. Happy New Year! I’m having a clear-out to get some cash together for a new bass. The pickups work perfectly but they have been used and have some string wear in places (I’ve tried to show this in the pics). Also, extra shielding has been added by Jon Shuker when they were fitted to my Jazz (so definitely noiseless!). This is what Dimarzio says about them: The hum-cancelling Ultra Jazz™ takes a traditional Fender® Jazz Bass® sound and really opens it up. Lows are deeper, highs are more percussive, and the mid-range is round but not muddy. Harmonic overtones jump off the strings. It’s also quick; with instant response to either fingers or pick-style playing. There’s only one word for this combination of qualities: “musical”. The description is a bit gushy, but they are very good indeed. Apparently (…), these are basically the same as the pickups Dimarzio designed for Sadowsky. They sound ‘strong’/full and can cut through like a P-bass better than many standard single coils. The ‘scooped’ sound is frankly the best slap sound I have ever had, rich and with loads of poke and, being ‘hum cancelling’; they are noiseless which is great for recording. I’ve also managed to get a really growly aggressive tone out of them too (which with a Markbass is going some…). I’m asking £55 (ono) posted within the UK. Best regards and thanks for looking Freddy
12. Yeah, I think so, mate. Like the photoshopped thing
13. [s]PRICE DROP NOW £210[/s] Now £200 Yamaha Motion B111 (transparent black on two-piece white ash), comes with a good soft case. This is medium scale (32”) and was made in Japan, around 1987. It’s used and worn in all the right places (see pics) with a few chips and grazes here and there. The body is white ash and has some really nice grain (I intended to have it completely re-finished in natural). The bass itself is sound with everything is working as it should and it plays really well and sounds sweet. The knobs are not stock but the hardware is (Gotoh as far as I know). There are Schaller strap buttons that replaced the originals, Alpha 500K, a Switchcraft jack socket has been added and the rear control cavity has been shielded. I got so into it I spent a fair amount on it and had Jon Shuker do the work on it for me, which, not surprisingly, turned out great. This is what Jon did: · Brass nut fitted · Full fretdress/ levelled · Bridge re-aligned as it had been wrongly fitted at the factory! · Battery box (the bass had a pre-amp so I had this fitted, but then changed it back to passive…) · Rear cavity shielded The neck has 24 frets and in addition to the fret dress, it has been thoroughly cleaned and re-hydrated. It feels/plays great, worn in, comfy and fills the hand without being too big. The neck is narrow and has a 38mm nut width. The fretboard is rosewood with a really nice figure in the grain. The pickups are humbuckers and have some real power (somewhere between a jazz, a precision and maybe even a Gibson… maybe). It’s currently strung with Black tape wounds, which sounds lush. I got it from TPJ (top guy, by the way) earlier this year as I was having wrist/shoulder problems and needed a break from my Jazz… I have to say, it really helped (well, that and physio!), feeling comfortable, no big reach, not too big in the body and a nice weight (under 9lb). There aren’t that many 32” scale basses on the market, but this has to be one of the best sounding (without going to hand built/custom stuff) and there are even less of the Motion B 111s; rare? Not sure, but hey, this is a fab bass anyway. I’m asking [s]£230[/s] [s](Now) £210[/s], (Now) £200 to get back some of the cash spent. I am interested in trades; Jazz bass pickups, if anyone has a pair... I’m in Sheffield and you’re welcome to come and try it but I can post it, if preferred. Thanks for looking. Best regards Freddy
