1. I am looking to overhaul my rig. I currently have a Little Mark Bass F head (limited edition in red) I am unsure of it's power rating at 4 and 8 ohms. On the back it says 550w but no mention of rms or a breakdown of what it's power at 4 and 8 ohms is. So if anyone knows more about this amp then that would be great. Also i currently have an old Laney 4x10 cab rated 240 watts @ 8ohms. I need more headroom and better tone, i feel this cab is holding me back tone wise. I have under valued the importance of a quality cab. So basically i would like a decent 4x10 cab and a 1x15 stack. I am unsure what's best to get, i would like a warm, punchy and modern sound. I am willing to spend approx £1000 on the two cabs, just need to know the specifics about my current head so i can plan accordingly. Thanks in advance.

3. In our set i hate the basslines to: Don't Look Back in Anger Sex on Fire
4.
I wouldn't say its the cab I borrowed a Geddy Lee for a week and did a gig with it and had the same issue, dropping the treble and cranking (for me!) the Mids helped alot, The GL jazz bass sounds a bit thin too me, if i owned one i'd change the Pups, Fab neck though!
Yes i am starting to think the Geddy may have been a mistake sound wise. I do want something to sit in the mix more, maybe a P-Bass would have been better. If i do change the pups in the Geddy, which ones would you suggest?
5.
I don't know much about Laney but I would have thought that any problems there should affect all your strings equally. On your amp put the low, mid low, mid high and high controls to 12 o'clock. Turn the VPF and VLE controls fully off, anti clockwise. Your amp is now flat. If the D and G still sound thinner than the A and E I would think this is probably caused by your bass. Are you using any effects? Are strings the right height from the fretboard? Are the pickups the right height from the strings? Do you have dip switches on the pots can that alter the sound?
Ok i will try it flat next time. Sometimes i have all the nobs about quarter past 12 if that makes sense. Don't think it's the right away to go about things. I have no effects at all, just a Geddy Lee with the original pups, i bought it second hand off here.
6. Thanks, the gauges on my nobs on the head ain't labelled with numbers, just dots, so it's hard for me to follow your instructions. I may take a pic of my head and then ask you guys for a suggested setting, as i feel i am messing this up.
7. Hi guys, i am not happy with my live sound. I invested quite heavily on my equipment laast year but still haven't really mastered a good enough live sound. The main problem i have is the D and G string are just not prominent in the mix and really do sound thin. I play with a Geddy Lee bass and have a mark bass head, i do have an old Laney 4x10 speaker which may be the reason behind this. I have just re-strung the instrument so it can't be dead strings. Just any tips on EQ or anything on how to get a better well rounded sound will be much appreciated.
8.
0.05" or 1/20"
Cheers mate, bit annoying though as the nearest 30 piece set to me starts off at 0.07". Hmm this could be annoying, but thanks anyway at least i now know.
9. Really need to lower this for next weekend, no need to shim the neck just need to lower the action with an allen key. Does anyone know which size i need? Thanks in advance.
10.
I bought a key when I had mine (never got around to using it though!). The Ged doesn't come with one from Fender. It took quite a bit of finding, as it's quite an unusual size needed for the Badass. I think it was 0.5 or something? I may have even asked about the size needed in another section of BC at the time.
I have found a set of keys here, but forgive me if i am beinga tool but i can't see anywhere to use the allen key on the badass II. All i can see is scredriver jobbies at the back of it and actually on it. I may attempt tweaking the truss rod tonight. To make the action lower do you turn it clockwise or anti clockwise?
11.
In that case get yourself down to your local DIY shop and buy a 30 piece metric and imperial Allen Key set. That way you'll never be in need of any allen key for a bass again.
So will simply adjusting the badass with an allen key be enough to bring the action down with no fret buzz. Just i hear with these basses adjusting the truss rod is a bit of pain in the proverbial.
12. Oh ok, i got mine off here there wasn't an alan key provided.
13. Hi all good people. I have recently purchased one of these, and for me the action is set a little high for my liking. On this model i haven't got a clue how to fix this. Do i have to take the neck off, and what do i do with the badass bridge etc? I really do like the action to be quite low, but i don't feel comfortable gigging with this until it's right. Thanks in advance Ben
14. Yes, just i play a p bass at the moment, just hope the neck won't be so thin i find it hard to adjust. Also i really need the fret side dots though, i just hope they come with them.
15. Cheers guys, just i am on the verge of buying one tonight. Also how much thinner is the neck compared to a standard jazz, i am hoping it's about the same.
16. Are there any fret dots on this model for reference points? I don't mean the block inlays, i mean the fret dots on the side/top of the fingerboard. Just worried if there arn't that i may get lost on the neck. Thanks in advance. Ben
17. Maybe mate, i am in the market for a new bass i will wait for the pics though first.
18. sorry there is another thread on this with a link. Dont know how to delte this one.
19.
I played one of these just before Christmas and loved it. I'd shop around though as there's a few places online selling them for £499-519 edit: GAK & Soundslive
Ok cheers guys, £500 with a case would be a good deal.
20.
70s Classics are Mexican, not US made. By all accounts great basses through
Cheers, i may have to try this shop out in Brum soon.
21. Is this also an american jazz? http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars...=08062012163928
22.
Purchase the Jazz if you're a musician and the Precision if you're a bass player.
So, this has slightly confused me even more now. Tough one to answer, but for a diverse cover band ie the beatles, kings of leon, james brown and the killers, which out of the two would be best, and why.
23. I hoenstly do not not know whether to purchase a 2009 fender jazz in arctic/maple, or the precision model. I can see the benefits of both but i just cannot decide. Musicman, i not you have the 2009 jazz, is this the mexican model. If so would you recommend it, and what are the stock pups like?
