  1. I use a Klystron 100 head with two classic neo 4x10's, been regularly giiging with them for about 4 years now. Absolutely no problems at all, get the head serviced every 6 months. Definately the best rig I've ever had, just run the eq fairly flat with just a touch of mid boost and it sounds awesome. Dont boost any of the bottom end or it can become a bit boomy. Ran it side by side with a Mesa M9 carbine head and two powerhouse cabs and the ashdown blew it away.
  2. I'm running a Klystron 1000 head and two classic 4x10's and can honestly say its the best rig I've ever had. The only drawback is the size and weight. I've used ABM 4x10's and they sounded fine until you push them then they started to loose deffinition. But the neo drivers in the classics just seem to get louder and louder without loosing anything. Can deffinately recomend this set up .
  3. Hi guys thanks for the warm welcome. Looking forward to joining in the forum, seems like a good site with loads of usefull bits on here. Only one more gig now before xmas and then nothing until mid Jan so going to be twiddling my thumbs a bit. Maybe spending a lot of time on here :-)
  4. Hello everyone I'm Jez from Tamworth. I've been playing bass for about 35 years now in various bands and am currently in 3 bands playing around the midlands. Have had loads of different gear over the years, some good and some shocking. My current set up is Sandberg Bullet JM Fender USA Jazz Squier vintage modified Jazz ( what a great guitar this is for the money ) Ashdown Klystron 1000 head 2x Ashdown neo 4x10's
  5. Cryer gig was great last night. Was good seeing the double neck again, just a shame it was put through that awfull Marshall rig, it just didn't let the 8 string ring out.
  6. Have a look on facebook at stu clarke RIP, its a tribute page to Stu Clarke one of the original guitarists. There's loads of old photo's of Cryer there, some with your bass and also some of Fez with his Thunderbird which he still uses.
  7. Two basses for me every time. I play in a band where I need sounds ranging from old school passive Jazz bass sounds to the full and toppy sound of an active. Not broken a string for years but wouldn't want the hassle of having to change string if I did.
  8. Wow I've not seen that bass for many years. Fez is an old old mate of mine and I bet he was really pleased to see that again. I've played it loads and the weight of it wasn't too bad at all, the balance was pretty good in fact. He used to play it through an old Cerwin Vega rig, 18" bottom with a 2x12 on top.The 8 string sounded massive through that. I'll be at the gig so will be looking forward to seeing it again . Jez
