1. Thanks Stubass - if you sell your Roscoe - happy to sell this beauty to you!!
2. Tobias Standard 5 for Sale Made in the early 90's in Japan and finished in USA by the Tobias team at Burbank California, before Tobias was sold to Gibson. Its in good overall condition - usual small dings and buckle rash to the rear - a couple of dings on the side of the neck. Original Bart pups and electronics. Bart TCT 3 band pre (The mid pot is inside the control cavity, this is the way these were produced). Beautiful through neck construction, an Ash body with a maple core and bubinga stringers, and a rosewood fretboard. The neck is assymetric and very comfortable. The line up for that time period was this: Standard, Basic, Classic, Signature About 400 Standard 5's were produced.. £750 - including a hard flight case and postage (mainland UK)! Sorry no trades. On his MTD website Mike Tobias said: "Business was still very good and we were not able to make anywhere near enough basses to fill the orders. Instead of trying to jack up production, we tried to get outside vendors to build for us. We had 110 Model T basses made for us by a very fine builder in New England, and then we got the Terada factory in Nagoya, Japan to make the Standard bass for us. This was and is a great bass, but the dollar/yen ratio killed the project. There were about 400 standards".
3. Fancy a rare (1of400) Tobias Standard 5 as a straight swap? Cheers Matt
4. Lefsalefsa bought my funky 1983 Ibanez RB924CS. All the way from Norway he's a great guy to deal with, quick payer and great communications - I would have no hesitation in dealing with him again!! Thanks MattyK
5. Cheers Bassdog - yes the Musician is a fantastic instrument, I dont think this is gonna be around too much longer!! Cheers Matt
6. I have for sale this rather funky - and getting quite rare - 1983 Ibanez RB924CS Bass. The overall condition is very good. On the rear edges there about half a dozen small (4-5mm) laquer chips, some minor surface marks on the rear, but no buckle rash. The front is very nearly perfect, again just a few very minor surface marks. No cracks whatsoever anywhere and electronically all sound. Heres a couple of pics, PM me for more; http://i47.tinypic.com/35mqjqw.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/1ik0ab.jpg The bass has just been set up by my guitar tech, www.guitarangel.co.uk on 40's, with the truss rod adjusted for the correct neck relief. It has been set up for a much lower than average action and plays perfectly all the way up. The upper frets just had a minor level to achieve this. Its a lovely player and has many tonal options. The specs are available here; http://www.ibanezwik...oadstar+II+Bass No trades please as my Car has recently died and I need the cash lol!! Happy to courier at cost - the bass will come in a hiscox style hard flight. Any question please ask - many thanks Matt.

9. Thanks for the comments guys - I cant work out how to put extra photos on?? Any help appreciated - my IT skills are sadly lacking! If anyone wants pics emailed, happy to do so if you want to PM me your email address. Also im now happy to send this (ive aquired a beat up old hard case) which should do the job fine. Truckstop - if you really want a semi I have a picture of this one lying next to the fretted 81' you sold me - two in bed together!! Ghost Bass - not interested in trades thanks mate. Cheers Guys
10. Hi Bass Chatters, Not using this bass much so id thought id move it on. Here we have a lovely MIJ 1981 Ibanez Blazer Fretless. This has not been defretted - the lacquer on the neck is original and not many factory fretless versions were made. The neck is nice and straight and the truss rod moves nicely - the bass was professional set up a few months ago. The bass has a nice low action and the pups are super hot. Its aged to a lovely dark amber colour. Minor Bad Points - Some of the lacquer is worn under the strings, the scratch plate stands a little proud (although its not noticable asthetically), and the bass has a few small dent marks and the usual belt crasing on the rear of the body (pretty much what you'd expect from a 32 year old bass). Ideally id like this picked up from Wotton under Edge area - Gloucestershire. I am prepared to send the bass by courier for an agreed P+P - im happy to put it in an old hard case for delivery. Im gonna ask for £295 ovno - no trades thanks. Heres a few photos..... http://i50.tinypic.com/2zzoih0.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/2znvcep.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2hf2b82.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/vxno85.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/j97lz6.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2mxodiw.jpg
11. I have exactly the same bass - fretted version. I believe a few of these basses were produced as fretless. Mike Tobias is a great guy and willing replies to emails - so it would be easy to check with the man himself if you wanted to. These are amazing instruments and fit like a glove in your hand with that super assymetric neck - someone buy it!!
12. Alex, My advice for what its worth, is to try your best to keep your band small - so try and get a multi-instrumentalist (lead vocal/guitar/keys player in one) - they do exist as Ive got one in my wedding band. That way you can undercut the £1500 guys and still earn good money - also dont forget the power of the internet - my band take 95% of bookings over the internet and we are turning work away (so there is still a market for good bands at the right price) - go for it mate!! Also I find that Ibanez Blazers - especially stripped back ones - get the booking rolling in lol!!! Matt
13. My whole band use Shure SE215's - nice sound and price point!! (I dont work for Shure) lol
14. Thanks Will - and thanks jhk The cab is located in Wotton under Edge (approx 10miles north of Bristol) - happy to arrange courier if required.
