1.
Blimey, cracking bass and I can't see this being around for long. Good luck with the sale.
Thanks a really cracking instrument and I hope it takes someone's fancy.
2. For sale and for trade is my beloved Warwick Thumb BO 4. Due to family finances I am selling quite a large portion of my gear. This a 2006 model (made before the recent Warwick line overhaul) made from Ovangkol both body and Neck. Wenge fingerboard gives it that distinctive sound and is a comfortable playing surface. This bass is totally versatile and has covered pretty much 80% of all my playing up to now. With a mute, this can tackle Motown and Soul and has taken several people by surprise by how "un-warwick" it can sound. Not saying that it can't do what this was made to do: it's a slap machine and an active beast. It's a great surface to tap on and the action is sublime for chordal and harmonic work. Sounds really great when played with a pick, and that's exactly what I used it for last week. The downsides: I wont lie that this bass is in perfect condition. Having this bass as my main for several UK and European tours has taken its toll. There is some thumb rash above the neck pick-up (pictured). The volume pot turns indefinitely and the knob is missing. This was due to a (lazy) crew member packing up equipment after a show. One night it was all there and the next evening when I took it out for sound check it wasn't. I have no idea how it came about other than neglect or rough treatment on his part (not hat I'm bitter at all...) This bass was £1200 new so I'd really like £600 for a straight sale. However I'd prefer an exchange trade as this is my last four string. I'd quite like a MIM Jazz (or similar build , such as parts basses) plus £300, which I don't think is too unreasonable. I will listen to all offers, however I do have to take into consideration the money side of things... Any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks EDIT!: I am based in Norwich, Norfolk but also travel to London quite a fair bit for work. I can arrange collection at either of these places, but if you would like to arrange your own courier that's fine. Postage wise, I do have a hardcase to throw in but we'll have to negotiate price.
3.
Me too! Swedish band Komeda ring a bell? I lurv them to death.
No, I'll check them out for sure! And hey, gotta sign off somehow right? Although these kisses has made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Shucks you guys
4. Hey everyone. So I've been a member for a while now, but never got round to saying hello or giving myself any kind of introduction! My name is Marcus, and I'm a freelance session bass player/song writer originally from Norwich, but now located in London. I absolutely adore motown, soul, listening to exciting and intricate chord progressions buried in pop music, and above all else, live music. I've found this site to be very welcoming and have some great people on here. Very helpful, friendly, just the place to be to chat about all things bass! Currently I play a Warwick Thumb 4 and a Streamer Jazzman 5. I used to have a 62 re-issue precision and a stock american jazz, but after using them for certain projects that are now finished, I have sold them on! Do I regret it? A little, but I am a Warwick man through and through at heart. I spend a lot of time on these forums, but rarely do I post. Looks like that's about to change! x
5.
i can vouch for the playability and tone of this bass i owned it before torvic, it was an incredible bass to play, and a fantastic range of tones and not bad looking either.
Awesome bass, really served me well. Hope you don't mind me using the pictures. But it's time for something else now more specifically a jazz of some kind would be ideal.
6. Now available for straight sale. £550 w/case ONO Trades still an option too
7.
After having just bought the fretless version of this bass I can honestly say that this is a fantastic price especially as it comes with a C&G case. All the best with the sale!
Yes, I got this for a steal and someone else will be too Thank you! I will reply to all PMs when I get home in a couple of hours thanks again for all comments and interest so far
8. This is NOT a USA reissue and is in fact Japanese. I will amend the OP. I thought I mentioned that in my post but after re-reading the wall of text I didn't actually mention it! doh! Although it is tagged. I am living in London, Islington at the moment, so collection can be arranged from mine, or close stations.
9. Thanks Nate! Good to hear from you And yes, the C&G case will be included. Thanks
10. Hey guys. Up for grabs is my Fender 62 Reissue Precision Japanese bass. I brought this bass from fellow bass chatter TorVic around six months ago and has served me well ever since. The bass has been upgraded with a new EMG pick-up and also a BasAss II bridge. This adds plenty of punch and sounds great with a pick or with fingers. In fact, throughout owning my fair share of precision basses (MIAs and MIMs) nothing comes close to comfort of playing and versatility in tone. I would use this bass fingerstyle w/mute and the tone I wanted was perfect. It has been my favourite studio bass (and has seen much more recording time than my Warwicks) (If you are after the original p/up and bridge I am afraid I don't have them, as they were not supplied when I got this bass) This bass has never been gigged in my possession. I purchased it for a run of studio sessions and since that is now complete, I no longer in need this wonderful instrument. The only reason I am letting this go is because I have a new job coming up which requires a different, more modern instrument. Ideally, as I'm looking for a bass for a new project I would like to[s] trade only .[/s] Now available for straight sale. I am after a Jazz of some sort, or a Warwick. I am totally prepared to add some £££ your way for the right bass. I will also entertain cash offers for this. Forum rules dictate I state a price for this. I purchased it for £550 so I would like to get that back if possible ONO. I did a bit of snooping and found some pictures TorVic and the previous owner posted. I hope this is ok to use these images! I can assure you the bass is in tip top condition and can (and probably will when I get the chance..) upload more pictures. I am London based, and I would like to say collection is preferred. I do not drive but can arrange a courier or discuss postage. I hope I've done everything right. This would be my first time selling on here, but please don't be put off by my low post count. I snooped around this forum for months before I joined and am aware (or so I like to think!! ) of the rules. Thanks for looking! Feel free to PM with any other queries Marcus
11. What material is the fretboard made out of? Is that Ebonol?
12. Victor is a great guy and a pleasure to deal with. Very helpful with the details of his bass, and very patient with me and my questions! Really honest and we had a great chat when I went to collect. Quick and easy exchange, so I was able to gig the lovely new '62 Precision on my Motown gig. Cannot recommend more! Will gladly do business again.
