That sounds...painful, care to elucidate?

Don't use em, really can't see the point. I love this forum for its exchange of ideas and gear, and I love the banter, If I like or dislike something someone says, I'll say so, not click an anonymus arrow..Bah humbug!

Had a set of greens on my black Yammy for about 9 months, love em! using our new LED lights last night seemed to make em flouresce like crazy, will know for sure when I see the pics the Drummers SWMBO took, watch this space

Space Oddity, or Day in the Life. For no reason I can fathom, those tunes just fall out of my brain, thankfully I have moved on from that band, so longer an issue.

I use Dava picks when I need to, don't get the 'revolving pick' issue with these!

The green ones go with my strings! -

Your mate Craig is in a very interesting band.. I liked it a lot!

Dya know...I do that too, so much so that the drummers GF comments on it a lot, never realise it meself until she mentioned it, oddly though I don't slap, I just do it to twist the bass a bit so I can see what my fingers are doing on the G string. I believe there are pics of me offending!

Great stuff! I DO like a bit of volin with me rock.....being a great Curved Air fan wot does it

Will keep an eye out for losing nuts, can't say I even noticing any on 1st inspection, the height clamps were gnurled wheels into captive nuts on a clamp.

Kit arrived this morning to work, so had a play at lunchtime, set it up in a quiet room. Comes in a Protex plastic, foam lined box about 900mm square by 200mm deep, plus 2 nylon shoulder bags for the stands. everything seems sturdy enough, all cables supplied plus a 4 way foot switch. Took me less than 10 mins to set up, bearing in mind it was my 1st time, I'm sure I could be quicker with practice. Instructions a tad vague, but a quick call to Tim at Phase one
http://www.djanddiscostuff.com/contact-us.asp soon put me right, kudos to them too for the very prompt delivery, no extra charge.
So, 3 modes,
1. manual light change, 7 colours to choose from, using the up/down footswitches
2. Sound to light, with an adjustable sensitivity pot on the footboard, couldn't really check that too well at work, my phone isn't THAT loud!
3. programme mode, 13 presets, which are all customisable for colour and speed, using a little lcd screen on the back of the heads, easy to read, and instructions very clear for this bit.
1 small niggle, when you go into programme mode, I think it remembers the last programme you had, and with no vis ref as to which prog it was, trying to find the one you want isn't easy, a lil LED screen on the footswitch showing P1-P13 would have been nice.
There are 4 buttons on the foot unit, mode, up, down and blackout, which switches it all off for that dramatic finish!
It was difficult to tell just how bright the lights were given the situation I was in, but they look very promising, will report further after gig on Friday.
Overall, initial impressions are very favourable, and I am looking forward to next gig! -
Tnx for the heads up, pulled the trigger on the equinox earlier, 2 T bar units, foot controller, cables and case, tad under 400 notes, hopefully delivered tomorrow, gigs this w/e and next so best get playing around looking for best settings!
-
Cheers for the link Pete, I KNEW I'd read about LED lights somewhere, but was checking talkbass site doh!
-
The other brand I came across was equinox, same idea I thinks, could we get away with 1 T bar, or should we get 2, 1 each side of us? Would 2 be overkill for a pub setting?
-
Thanks for trying anyway Darren

Anybody use em? Can ye recommend any? Was thinking something like
http://www.dv247.com/dj-equipment/kam-led-parbar-mkii--70401
But I really have no idea, we are a 4 piece pub rock covers band just looking to up our game a tad, need something easy to use by a band member, probably me, which adds a little oomph to our show.

Haha good spot, I read comments first them watched vid, prob would have missed it otherwise -
Pub rock in Bourne End Fri night, brilliant night, although a slow start, everyone went into other bar..were we too loud?, could her/see em cheering and clapping over landlady's shoulder though, and they all piled in for the last half hour, lots of dancing and hi jinx, guest solo spot from a guy who sings in a funk band, was really chuffed to be able to belt out some rocky numbers, many cards exchanged, great night, and got another return booking

Enjoy!...I am jealous, will have to make do with Playing tonight and just thinking of Yeschoons!
-
Not difficult at all, just wasn't aware of the format. Got out of bed the wrong side did we?
-
Wow...just WOW..never seen the likes of that before.
So what IS that lever on the headstock? how does it work? -
That would be handy!
What was your most embarrassing moment at a gig?

Doing Black Night on Friday, counting out the 12 bars of the solo in the middle, turned round to look at drummer to confirm, can see him counting out loud, get to 12 bars LAUNCH into main riff, everyone else carries on, on 13th bar he bangs out a drum roll and the others hit the riff, I felt about 2 inches tall....was video'd as well *sigh*
