I did a quick browse and couldn’t find any topic titles referencing the model or year. It’s difficult to know whether all 100 threads titled “What is this guy smoking” are talking about the same product without looking through them all and clicking on all the links

Put the ebay item number into the BC search 👍

  4. Up for sale is a 2015 Ibanez SRFF805 Fanned Fret 5 String bass with an Ibanez shaped ABS hard case. Not long ago bought from @Old Horse Murphy, but due to me recently getting a Warwick $$5, this hasn't been played much.

It's in great condition, bar a thumb-nail mark above the front pickup (seems to be common on these), a few small dings and the marks on the pickups, all pictured as best I could. It's a good introduction to fan fret basses, it's quite a small fan amount, but I've had this bass tuned down to A standard and you can notice how well it holds the down-tuning. The included hard case has some marks, but is structurally sound. That's still the plastic on the rear cavity cover.

    Specs:

    SRFF5 for Fanned 5pc Jatoba/Bubinga neck

    901.7mm/35.5" scale at 5th string,

    64.0mm/34.0" scale at 1st string

    Ash body

    Rosewood fretboard

    Medium frets

    Mono-rail V bridge

    Bartolini® BH1 pickups

Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band eq, w/Eq bypass switch (passive tone control on treble pot), & Mid frequency switch

    BKS Cosmo black hardware

Part of the limited Bass Workshop.

I'd love to just hang it on the wall as an ornament, as it's a lovely looking bass, but saving up for a house is more important.

Not looking for any trades, pick-up from Marden, Kent, could even deliver within a 30 mile radius for free. Socially distanced of course.

    Hi @WarPig

Ah, I remember that bass - it was an absolute cracker!

Although I came and got the bass from you, it was actually for the young son of a work colleague of mine at the time who a really good young bass player.

I'll try to see if he's still around and whether he still has it...

It's at least 10 years ago if not more, so I've really no idea where he is.

Hi Nick, if it's not too much hassel that would be great, cheers.

  6. I can't believe I'm saying this, but bass-wise, I'm GAS-free. I've bought 3 basses in the past few months and between them and my older ones, I have everything I need. I just find myself going back to my warwick thumb.

  7. Adam Neeley and although not a bassist, Rick Beato for good overall content.

Coversolutions, Luke from become a bassist and Talkingbass for lessons and such.

Never really got into Davie504. Andertons are good, especially now chappers isn't about. Ed Friedland is great, not so keen on Scott Devine, too much noodling.

BassBuzz can be pretty good for beginner stuff.
