    *whistles innocently*

If this is Parcelforce, don't wait for them to write to you and tell you they're expecting a payment - log it as a support job and they will email you the link. I had this with Ducati spares, it took them 7 days to get around to telling me the items were awaiting customs payment.

  2. I had a Shadow banjo system for a while and the controller for that was flimsy too. I have had several instruments fitted with various types of KK Sound pickups, and all of them have worked flawlessly wirhout exception.

The K&K Definity is apparently discontinued which is a shame because it looks interesting - I guess it didn't perform very well.

I'd be inclined to try a K&K Big Twin , either with the sensors attached to the bridge, the same way that they do for the Double Big Twin double bass set up, or with the two sensors under the bridge foot.

Basically it being a lefty, the seller being a liar, and that it's in Africa makes me run faster and further than Forest Gump.

Just as well it's in Africa, otherwise I'd be tempted to hunt the seller down and apply a belt sander to , oh use your imaginations!

  4. I've played for the Harley Riders Club of GB a couple of times at their rally on Mersea Island. I think we got £300 for a 6 piece band, that included a round trip of about 50 miles and setting up our own PA.  They're a great crowd , very enthusiastic.

At that time I think they did their own organisation. It now looks as though they've outsourced it.

I’ve had this affliction for over a decade but managed to live with the tinnitus, occasional bouts of vertigo and increasing deafness reasonably well.  Unfortunately the latest curve ball it has thrown me is to affect my discrimination of notes lower than low G, it makes them flat.
Now at low volumes this doesn’t occur but as the volume increases it presents and can make life tough on stage as I have to ignore what I’m playing.

I’m thinking that I would be best going for a simple IEM setup to enable me to play a bit longer; I can’t get the rest of the band to go this way so can someone give me advice on what I would need (and product recommendations) to enable a nice clear low volume feed for me alone in the band situation?

If you already have a recorder like a Zoom H4 , you could use that as a kind of mixer. The built-in mikes will pick up ambient sound, the input sockets will take a feed from your bass and an aux out from the desk, and you can plug in a set of ZS10s to the headphone socket.

5 grand ??? Only the bass gallery sell at that price, they will maybe pay you half of that if they pay money ? I guess they get them in trades

The very high priced CELINDERS  on the net takes a long time to sell, the more fair priced at CELINDER club F.B. or here sels faster

CELINDERS are the TOP made by a TOP PLAYER dont sell it

Bass Gallery charge 15% on commission sales, so the vendor would have recieved £4250.

  7. If the US artist or the tour company are going to put you on a company payroll, you'll end up paying tax through that, with zero allowance so the whole lot will be taxed. If not, you'll probably need to set up either a limited company or a limited liability partnership , invoice the tour management, pay yourself a minimum wage and or dividend and submit that income via self-assessment.

    Roland xl120  …. Your thoughts ?

There's a review of the predecessor, the CUBE-100 bass linked above.

I'd say it's a huge improvement on what you have now, the only reservation is that it's probably more than you need. They seem to go through the Bay occasionally for around the £120 mark second-hand so I wouldn't want to pay much more than that.

In my experience Roland gear is high-quality and good value for what it costs. I have an amp (not this one), a piano and an accordion and all have given years of service.
