1.
Up for sale my favourite bargain do-anything bass. Japanese made. Serial number makes it a 1985 model. Has a powerful active EQ that can turn it into a real thunderer down low! All working, in nice condition with the odd nick and scratch. Nothing major for a bass of this age. All original as far as I can tell. Fitted with brand new batteries! Can be picked up in London for £120 or will ship at cost. Got a bass-shaped box here waiting for it. Sorry abut the pictures (especially the reflections) - hard to get a decent photo of something so black!
Blimey! I had one of these when they first came out in 80's around about the time I was wearing make-up and playing in a "New Romantic" band and was the same age as my daughter is now! Enough sickly nostalgia! They are great basses, with a good range of tones from the active EQ. I loved it at the time, as I never had to go back to my amp to get a different sound. Great for slapping too! I have way too many guitars at the moment, or I would buy it. A brilliant retro 80's instrument at a brilliant price! Good luck with the sale! Gavin
2. How about a Demeter Compulator (Comp-1)?
3.
Thanks for the offer Gavin, very tempted, but ideally looking for a sale.
No Worries. I should really sell, rather than swap, too!
4. Would you swap it for a Fender Deluxe Jaguar MIJ? It's For Sale on here, if you want to see pics. Now discontinued. Nice slim neck. Just a thought. Regards Gavin
5. Trade for a Demeter Compulator (Comp-1)? Not true bypass though: http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/compulator.shtml Gavin
6. Black Fender Deluxe Jaguar Bass ("Crafted in Japan") For sale was £500 SOLD £450!!. Swap for Musicman Stingray (some cash your way?), Sterling. Prefer a Ray 34, but maybe an SB14, or consider a Sub or possibly a really good OLP MM22 . Any takers? This is the discontiued Deluxe MIJ model, not the Squire. Good condition, but has been gigged every week for a year....... hardly any fret wear, some light scratching on pickguard and bridge pickup from over enthusiastic plectrum use. Slight scratch on back. No dings. Electrics all fine. Neck, gorgeous, straight and true. Low action, not buzzy. I love this bass. It looks very cool, but it has become a "stay at home Cinderella Bass" as I am more into humbucking sounds now (I have two G&L L-2000's which I tend to take to gigs). Am based in St Albans, but am occassionally in Central London for work. Pick-up Only Please! Gavin
