1. did have a peek at that bad boy shockwave! but im not near bristol, plus that is almost overkill for my needs for the minute! good point krispn, think i have an idea of something to try... will let you know how it ends up! thanks all
2. hmm, have used alot of ashdown gear before, never the abm range. I didn't mind the ashdown sound for live, but I am tempted to go for something different with recording. good shout though, I will try one of these out
3. Hello all, Been a little while since I have frequented these parts, but we all know basschat is like a class A, never too far from the mind! Anyway, I am looking for some advice on a pre-amp or head, primarily for recording purposes (but doubling up as a powered head may be useful for the future). I want something with a gritty motown type sound, plenty warm and vintage sounding that has DI capabilities (or at least line out). Budget is about 300/400 I know the advice is go and try some, but primarily I have been looking at old ampeg svp types, so quite hard to go and have a bash. Other possibilities are: Orange Tiny Terror Hartke LH500 Old school trace Any advice on the above would be greatly appreciated!
4. any chance you would be interested in a part ex with a mexican fender pbass?

8. I havnt really been using this recently, so thought I would offer it up and see if anyone is interested. In great condition and has always performed well. Perfect for small gigs and rehearsals, and surprisingly loud at 180 watts. Collection from Tooting in London. Im after £100, thanks.
9. thanks Adam and i think your right, tayste, it depends on your taystes really, they are very clear and show up certain qualities as hifi speakers, i was using them as this for a little while, and I always likes the sound, gotta sell them due to space now really, the stands make it a very cool setup too. If you have a good eq on your amp then you can always adjust the output sound?
10. These monitors are under a year old, and in great condition. They have always provided a great flat EQ monitoring that works well for mixing, producing and sound design. They will come with two high quality floor stands that raise the speakers to a comfortable listening level at desk/chair height, they are metal (aluminium?) and have two hollow tubes that can be filled with sand etc to help weight them and get a better sound. They also have fitted neoprene pads to raise the speakers. The stands cost £90 new and the monitors over £250, so all together this is a pretty good slice off the price. Available for collection from tooting, south west london, I have a good buying/selling feedback lurking around somewhere on here Im ideally looking for £200 collected ono
11. welcome to bass chat
12. Anyone know of a good bag that can hold my laptop and microkorg? The ones I have seen either put my expensive laptop right at the front of the bag (not useful) aren't padded enough, or are the wrong shape. I quite like the look of this, but would rather have good seperated compartments http://www.terralec.co.uk/rack_cases_and_b...mm/22885_p.html
13. sold pending to maximus
14. sorry mate, not really into the tone of those bad boys, had one before
15. I was using this for about 6 months absolutely fine (bought it second hand for £100) then something a bit weird started happening. The brown god mixes between two chips to create its sound, a 'synthy' one, and a 'fuzzy' one, the fuzzy one seems to work fine all the way through, but when you have it full on synth, and the gate low, it seems to have a slight crackle. I haven't really inquired about repairs, but the fault doesn't seem too bad. It also has a very light pop when you turn it on and off. You can still use it fine on a mix between the fuzz and synth, I think it sounds best around here anyway, and the gate still works fine too. I dont have the time or money to get this repaired though, so im either looking to swap for another distortion, or sell it on for £40 (at this price you should be able to get it fixed and still have cash left over from the new price) Anyone interested??
