2.
I've just been thinking, is it possible to leave a passive bass plugged in without any negative effects?
would be fine.. no effect on any electronics.. or what Pete says..
3. jeez..i only asked.. whats this the status snob club?
4. lovely bass.. but that guys playing is awful... self involved flashy nonsence.. this is how its done... good luck with the sale.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHdN_O5k3WM

6.
I had to read that twice... In 30 years of playing bass I've never found a use for a plectrum, I just adapt my finger style to suit whatever I'm playing.
no need for a sharper sound?..
7.
You're not familiar with Bobby Vega then? He's a really funky pick player-he subbed for Rocco with Tower of Power.
oh.. thanks doddy. i will check him out. sorry im in my own world when it comes to bass playing.
8. no flames here.. he does what he does... incredible slap playing... i dont like the tone.. but i cant get away from the incredible tech..... i just think its very important to remember how good he was/is with the fingers...
9.
You maybe didn't look too far --- Anthony Jackson on O'Jays Love of Money is just one example -- Go study... B
ha there is some knowledge on this dog.....i stand corrected my friend.. i go listen..
10. you thought i was going to say what is best?... my curious Q is, have you ever switched styles for genres... i could, or some may say, that pick is for rock type stuff, and fingerstyle is for funky style bass playing.. obviously this is nonsence.. you could say that a pick cuts through way better for Rock,... i have never seen a funk player play with a pick, but ive seen loads of rock players play with there fingers... go figure..
11. would i be wrong in saying a Ric sound is a very bright Gibson type of tone..unlike the warm punch of a P bass..?
12. if you ever get the chance... play a Sukop... can do anything...
13. well thanks guys.. ive been played for 20 + years.. i play Sukop and Suhr basses, aswell as Xotic jazz basses.. im an aries.. i like swimming, melting plasic, crib, and cider..
14. practice and understanding.. talent comes from mental and physical understanding... the patience is in the practice
