1. A heavy looking, but useable double neck .. and I can't remember if anyone's montioned the SEI on ebay;
 2. Seems the Ric we first followed has now been relisted.. Potentially with a few new parts: £2600 If the one at a grand doesn't rocket too much that'll be a great deal, it appears to be quite a rare model.
 3.
i have no idea what the difference is to be honest, though i have always wondered...
I'm pretty sure the main difference is in the electrics - something to do with blending the pickups.. I'll try and dig out the site I was reading a few weeks back. Here we go; Ric resource
 4.
and another rick http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rickenbacker-4001v63...%3A1|240%3A1318 only a grand atm
Interested to see how that goes! Do the 4001's have a different truss arrangement*? I remember reading somewhere that they're not suitable for nickel /SS strings, but I may have dreamt it...? *Edit: To 4003's?
 5. Stick with the guys who have stuck with you, and stuff the abandoners. Put a freeze on paractices until you find replacements, until then meet regularly to write new material ready for your full line up Edit: Killer material is a great incentive for new members to join! If you want to practice the new material, sounds like you have enough people for acoustic stuff? You'll probably even be able to get gigs quite easily as an acoustic act, even if it is temporary Don't give up!
 6. I bought a load of mic's and bits from Iain, and couldn't be happier! His descriptions of gear were cautious in every case, everything arrived looking brand new in it's original packaging. Friendly, interesting fella as well, making the deal even sweeter. Top marks!!
 7.
All lefthanders check this site..LeftyBassist.com.Some these guys have got incredible collections, and some good stuff for sale.
Good site indeed!! If you haven't already, check out the Basschat lefty thread in my sig
 8.
Lowdown has a VST system link system running with two delta cards. Mine are the LT versions, but I don't think they have an optical connection for lightpipe? Is it the case that I could use VStack or something to synchronise the two cards without using vst system link? This would be good, but i'd still like the transport (i.e stop and start) of both computers to be linked because then I can use automation on my FX PC. EDIT: Ta for the link though, I just don't think it's true seeing as Lowdown has his sytem working. Perhaps I should have done more research before buying my 2nd Delta card.
I did notice that - I thought it must be down to the use of VStack? I can't help a great deal, I just noticed that it's not officially supported. I have also gathered that Coax SPDIF cables won't work.. I think you need some more input from Lowdown to see if he can shed any light on linking the transport, and to what extent he uses VStack - if VSL isn't officially supported I guess it might be necessary to compromise your workflow a little, but hopefully not. If you do get it working, I think I may copy you
 9. Sorry mate, according to M-Audio none of the Delta series of soundcards support the Steinberg VST System Link.. M-Audio FAQ I think it's something to do with how the information is routed in the sound card. If you have the LT versions, maybe try Lightpipe instead of SPDIF with FX Teleport or VStack or something. Never done anything of the sort myself, this uninformed (and probably unhelpful) reply is based on 3 minutes of Googletime!
 10. Lefty Warwick Fortress on ebay; here.
 11. That's bloody good going, it could be down to making it available Worldwide. Although looking at the buyers purchase history, it looks like he's got more money than sense!
 12.
well I sure hope not for my sake who knows I may buy it off you yet- I'll trade some cufflinks for the wedding for it!
If they can seat and feed a hundred people and fly us to Hawaii you're on!
 13. Cheers! Been putting it off forever but can't get away with it anymore, haha. Selling the Ric would be a last resort but weddings cost a fortune and I'm none too confident of being able to save enough without letting some gear go. Who knows, Ric may announce complete ceasement of lefty basses in the meantime, doubling the price! hehe
 14.
not bad, shame about it being in the US, you can add an extra 300 for shipping and tax at minimum
Good point, although even the BIN + shipping seems to be about market average ATM. Have you seen this? Sandberg RickenFaker Thoroughly gorgeous looking beast, regardless of the price.
 15. By the way, also noticed this when searching ebay; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1992-Rickenbacker-40...tem330309948635 Another lefty Ric, currently sitting at £750ish with a BIN of £1400ish
 16. Marriage may be on the horizon for me so I might be letting the Ric' go prematurely. *sob* I was thinking that I'd get the best return with a worldwide ebay auction, as I want a premium for its condition and vintage, but can't bring myself to advertise it at a price higher than new, even though there are equateable basses on ebay as 'Buy It Now's' for well over £2500. What would you guys do?
 17.
Sounds great to me. There's a little bit of a problem in that I'm supposed to be going to see Mrs Coasterbass' mates in Winchester that day However, I might be able to convince her to take the train, and for me to join them later in the day. its only a 130 miles after all So, I reckon its doable if everything starts early enough, and then I'll have to head off about 3.30/4pm. Would that fit with the plans so far? If all goes well I'll bring my Stingray, Jazz Deluxe and Thumb V. Do we need to bring amps too?
Sure, let's start the bash at 12-1pm to allow people time for the journey and wrap it up at about 4 or 5pm, or whenever it gets quiet.. Amps would be really helpful as I can only guarantee one for sure - I have a spare pair of 1x12's which could be driven by an amp each and allow for 3 people to play at the same time, we shouldn't need a great deal more than that but it can't hurt!
 18. Anyone's welcome, but the main intention is to try out different left-handed basses! I told my mates about this last night and they nearly wet themselves, it's quite a strange thing to the non-muso! It could make for a funny, random Youtube video, a load of lefty bass players jamming together. It could even be some kind of world record?!
 19.
well i preemptively call shotgun on one of those!
Done - as long as I get shotgun on your Stingray!
 20.
Count me in!!!
Will you be driving? I know there's another lefty in Notts, could share the petrol?
 21.
Any idea how far Somersham is from Cambridge? Can get a train with a couple of Sandbergs from Brum to Cambridge, but no idea from there.....
It's a 25 min drive, you're slightly better off getting the train to Huntingdon, which is a bit closer and in the same district as a lot of Somersham-friendly taxi companies. I'm happy to make a trip or two to the Huntingdon station to make pick-ups
 22.
tis already there my lad, at the bottom!
Wise!
 23. Errr.. me, I'll be there Will have my Eden amp with a couple of cab options, unless I trade between now and then.. Also a Ric 4003, MM Stingray and Fretless Jazz if anyone wants a noodle!
 24.
Tadaaaa!
Swift work! Reckon it's worth linking to on the first post on here, hopefully capture a few more lefties who may not frquent 'the local'?
