1.
to be honest I'd be happy with anything over two people, just to try out some stuff! I've been wanting a nodle on a thumb and a rick since the dawn of time People are going to start wondering why we have the same couch in our avatars biggsy
Ha, I just noticed that! Quite a sharp look if you ask me Right, well, I'll propose a date - Saturday April 18th in Somersham, Cambridgeshire for the lefty bass bash. We have a PA and I'll have a bass amp or two kicking around, I might even dig out the barbeque if we can pull a decent number together! I can suggest decent hotels in the area if anyone wants to have a few bevvies with me. Get it on the opening post mate, the date is reasonably flexible, as of course is the location, if there is demand!
 2. Well that's three of us! Anyone interested in organising it?! We could tentatively say mid-end of April, see if we can get a decent number together?
 3.
nice collection that! Hey, what does everyone think of a lefty bass bash?
I'm in! I'd be happy to host it at my studio too; Is Cambridgeshire accessible for many here?
 4.
I'm looking for a vintage Fender Jazz (between 1970 and 1980), not fussed on condition of just aslong as it works - can anyone help me or point me in a good direction?
Here's a '77, for about £2k: http://www.leftybassist.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=251 Seems a highly trustworthy fella IMO
 5. Belated welcome! I met you 3 or 4 years ago when I travelled up to buy your old $$; glad to see you've joined
 6.
I believe it has had a couple of owners. I'm guessing they've done the same as I. Thought a six string would be fun, then got it and realised it's not for them. It really is a gorgeous bass, the nicest I've ever played/owned.
Agreed, it does look a mighty bass, best of luck with the sale

EBMM Stingray, Fender Jazz, MIM body, Fretless ebony Warmoth neck, active EMG's, Badass bridge & Schaller hardware, Rickenbacker 4003, Hopefully one more to add to the list by the end of the week
 8.
didn't that just sell on the warwick forums? I could swear its the same bass... Good luck with the sale though, think the original owner is on the forum so I'm sure he can attest to its awesomeness!
I think you're right, there can't be many of these around: Would be interested to hear more history as it's changed hands 3 or 4 times in the last few months. For the money, it's still a bargain!
 9.
Hello, my name is Moody and I am left handed. I have nothing for sale or trade, I have, however, just bought this little beauty!
Very nice! Welcome to the revolution
 10.
Would people like a 'lefties gallery' too? Basses that we own but aren't for sale? We're such a specialist group that its good to see what basses are out there.
I'm up for that, I think Metaltime postulated a similar thing a page or two ago - If someone wanted to start a thread in 'Gear Porn' I'd definately contribute
 11.
Thats a bargain if it stays this side of £1500 (never been 100% a lover of Rick's myself though)
Good shout! £1520, ended over the weekend.. is the new owner anyone here by any chance?
 12.
Oh bravo biggsy, bravo! Hows it play?
Oh mate, it's got the lowest action I've had on a bass, slim, fast neck, perfectly balanced and surprisingly light! I never thought I'd ever get to own one of these. Unfortunately I really, really don't like the strings which are some black rubbery-feeling things, (Rotosounds?) so it'll be going in for a new nut and setup at some point soon. Also having a rethink on my pedalboard now, as it's a stereo bass! I'm not entirely sure how to utilise that though?!
 13. Here's my new beauty, I'm not 100% on the date but the jack plate at least is from 1981! I've put together a quick Flickr album, no doubt I'll be adding more in the next few days www.flickr.com photo set
 14. Ooo, Lefty Ric, no reserve! They don't often come up.. Item number 230323041235
 15.
anyone coming to the harrogate bass bash by the way? there is a chance I can pop along and would love another lefty to be in attendance!
When is it? I hope to be in the area this weekend, would love to fondle your MusicMan
 16.
List updated- perhaps if people create their own threads in the main forum about said basses and then I link them in the first post like with nevernever's? Just a thought, anyone have any opinion?
I think that's the best idea. Arnis site has been updated over the weekend! There's a lefty Polish Streamer knock-off which looks a great deal to me. Josh, I've found the manual for the $$ and I'm picking up the truss tool tonight, sorry for the delay. Hopefully I'll have some interesting news by the end of the week too, watch this space!
 17.
Hi all, I'm looking to sell my Tanglewood Canyon II active bass, left-handed that I bought in September 2007. The bass hass been really well looked after and has barely a mark on it, the only mark being a scuff from my belt on the rear of the body. I've loved this bass very much but it just doesn't fit in with what I'm doing at the moment so I can't really justify keeping it. The neck is slimmer than a jazz bass (which is saying something!) which means you can easily reach all of the 24 frets the bass has. There's a single soap bar pickup in the middle, and being an active you obviously have the full range of tonal control- high, mid and trebble as well as a volume control. It also features an amazing through-neck which gives the bass great sustain and clarity. Pictures can be seen over at http://s581.photobucket.com/albums/ss254/kasnoo2000/ If anyone wants any others, just message me. RRP on this is £550, I'm looking for around £300- offers considered!
Lovely looking bass mate, if you haven't already it's worth mentioning your sale in the lefty thread - it's a sticky at the top of the basses for sale section.
 18.
Almost forgot... have you guys seen this place? www.southpawguitars.com
Aye, beware of an old version of their site floating around the net! I arrived at their site thru a google search and it listed 3 different lefty Ric' 4003's at something ridiculous like $1599.. I thought to myself "I'll have them", but turns out they don't actually have them. The seem nice and friendly though, good prices and prompt replies to emails and plenty informative
 19.
mmmmmmmmmmm nope i think i will stick to a 4 string
I'm with you.. Imagine setting that beast up!
 20.
WTF is that?
From what I read the first few strings are bass strings, the rest are guitar ones - The fanned fretting is madness! MIDI enabled too, you could control a whole orchestra from one guitar. Cool. Edit: From the Ad: LEFTY SEI BASS PALLADINO 8 STRING - w/MIDI Feeling adventurous? Gorgeous, amazing... Custom Jazz shape 8 string bass/guitar similar to original one built for Pino Palladino (Charlie Hunter also plays this setup too) consisting of 3 bass strings E A D and 5 guitar A D G B E, fully MIDI compatible, custom made Kent Armstrong pickups buckeye burl facing FAN frets to give different scale lengths 25" on guitar side 28" on the bass side, reso acoustic saddles give the steel string guitar sound... also has dual outputs for bass & guitar pickups. $4k
 21. I've never seen anything like this before.
 22.
There's another '64 with the same neck date in the USA at present (I'm up on my '64 neck dates as I'm looking for one born the same day as me) Not saying it's a ringer, but it's certainly a coincidence? Chris
The fact the seller has written 'Serial number xxxxxxx' in his description swings me to the wary side too..
 23. Just stumbled over this on Gumtree.. I assume it's either a scam, or the first 'realistically' priced 60's Jazz I've ever seen.
 24. JJB drinks at my local! 'The Stranglers' still play locally on occasion
 25. You big tease I'd be the same to be honest, that's definately a keeper you've found! Wisely done. On the other hand, I would like to swap the $$ for your EB Stingray. That's two off the list so plenty of room for some wanted ads - which I reckon's a great idea Andy, there's a lefty Thumb 5 for sale on Talkbass, I've spoken to the guy and he'd ship to the UK as long as you pay for shipping, and he's asking $1000 ONO: Here
