Mind how you go, he'll be calling them 'tuning forks' next
Or flat tuning spoons not suitable for soup. Perhaps sugar if handled carefully.

And still for sale

These photos are so cool they even make the dings look good. -

I fitted it on my 70s P bass to try it and it's a nice neck.
I bet it is, and defo worth the asking price. Thanks for the info. -
Cheers Ash.

Hi Ash, hope all is good. What standard is the fretboard replacement.

Bigd, its a good price, its hardly an Affinity Telecaster.
I've got an affinity tele it's one of the nicest guitars I've owned. The sound is ok to good, but it looks and plays like a dream. -
Excellent photos. Bump.

Always love it when they say stuff like "scratches do not affect playing at all" How deep would they actually have to be to affect the playing? It's up there with " I don't know anything about basses....."

"selling this on behalf of a friend" and "any questions I'll do my best". -
I give it 5 weeks and it will pop up again somewhere.

This.
Although it absolves him of nothing.

Agreed, he is a thieving prick. -

actually, I don't buy the lodger story at all. Its a ruse to sell a fake bass. Some sucker thinks he's getting the deal of a lifetime but just buying a very expensive fake.
The 'landlord' doesn't have to be responsible for a Fender rip off - no lodger's gonna turn up!!
Thinks about it...who's forget their Fender bass when doing a runner?....l
it's probably a 'Vintage Precision'
+1 with bells on. On closer inspection I doubt it's a fender at all. -
The lodger story is obviously cock and bull. The guy has stuck a 60s style neckplate on a bass that has some resemblance to a guitar of that era. The lodger is a fabrication so he can avoid awkward questions and responsibility when and if the milk turns sour. It's hard to say what guitar this is but it is not a sixties original. It has already past the point for me where it's worth having a punt. Looks like a mex of some sort to me. Any experts out there.

I'll be entirely honest here. In most RHCP recordings he comes up with some great sounding lines but for my liking he shows off a fair amount and I've never enjoyed the whole incredibly fast slap thing he does.
I'm not knocking him, I'm just not a fan.

Booooooohhhhhh..........fleas cool. -

Figure it would have made my life easier if all these people had been blocked from my auctions before I had to deal with them, this is my current ebay blocked list, comprising of people who bid and didn't pay, people who won and tried to use paypal to get unwarranted refunds, people who try and pay less once they've won, people who demand postage to overseas at domestic shipping rates (which is really stupid when we are talking 20kg amps to Australia), and a guy who threatened me with violence if I didn't lower my start price. Anyway, figured it would be handy for other BCers to avoid these numpties, and possibly they could do the same so I can avoid other numpties in future. Easiest way to get to your block list is search 'block buyer' in the customer support bit and a link comes up on the list on the right, coupla of clicks and you can paste in the list. They can still message you unless you fiddle with other settings.
Two of your blocked list are real pains in the ass. One of them got my home number and rang my missus while I was at work and started askin her about an item I had for sale. eBay is a dodgy spot and full of loons. I didn't know you could block people though. Thanks for the tip. -
Must add Ian Brown to the god particle list. Cheers APA

I thinks hes suggesting you should buy it for him(cheeky bugger). -

What's the history on the body & neck, origin etc? The headstock appears to have a bit of funky shaping going on.
Agreed, I like this guitar a lot but the headstock looks a bit munchy. Maybe carved from a strat or something. What's the deal? -
Another fair trade with the master of kindness. Pete is a pleasure to deal with. Trade with confidence and see for yourself.

I bought a guitar off Paul last week. He is a proper, proper gent. Looked after me really well. All went fantastic. Be not afraid.

Aye, good old Shippers, up to his art again. You never know, he might have the last laugh and we'll be discussing his authentic knobs 50 years from now.

Doubt it. -

Decal pretty wonky too!
Handsome guitar though. The decal is fixable. I reckon the neckplate is for show and placed overhead existing one. All in all could be a good buy for someone. -

Hi I managed to get this as the seller was fairly local to me, football was on, not much info on the listing so I took a gamble and got a bargain I think! It's a '94 'made in Japan' virtually mint and super light, plays really well, I gigged it last night and got real compliments on the sound of it. This will be my primary gigging bass for the moment - I've been getting a bit worried about taking my '82 JV out to rowdy pub gigs lately!
Lucky you. I was gonna stick £300 on it, I'm glad for you that I didn't. Enjoy mate. -
Smug smile:)

All that's missing is some wood, maple I think...
I wouldn't value it on its age though, like I said, just use it for bits I probably wouldn't repair this. But yeah, I worked with a guitard who lost the plot once and took the head off his 60s strat in a drunken rage. glued back together nicely, a few bits of filler maple, lots of aged nitro and a veneer for the front made it invisible. Not original any more, not worth much but he did say it played better and stayed in tune after that!
£28 is OK, when you consider the price of a new neck, it's a bit of work, but its still a Fender - albeit heavily repaired...
I agree with ou7shined though, I think £25 would be end of the bidding range for me not the start.
Agreed 100%
Any loaded Les Claypool/Primus/weird bass fanboys out there?

Wouldn't it be nice to have the money to bid on it. At currently over £10,000 I'm sure it will raise a lot of moolah for an excellent cause. I feel good about the world having read that post.
