  1. Hi there, I an interested and have a Markbass 1 x 15" rear ported cab, will check the specs and let you know which one it is.
  2. No problem. What would you need to see?
  3. I've recently rescued a Cort Elrick bass that was in need of some TLC. So far I've managed to stop the G string rattling against the zero fret by filing the nut slot a little deeper, given the frets and the fingerboard a good polish with steel wool and some fingerboard oil and restrung it. I've also had the neck off and shimmed the neck at the back of the neck cavity in order to lower the action, however, when I measure the string heights across the neck, there is more clearance at the 12th fret than there is at the 22nd-24th fret. I was always under the impression that there should be a small amount of relief in the neck, but this would appear to be causing the difference in string height, which is leading to a little bit of clattering of the strings against the higher frets. I will say that the action is pretty low at around 1.8mm at the 12th fret. Would anyone have any advice on the amount of relief I should have set in the neck and what could cure this height disparity? Thanks!
  4. Their pedals are a thing of beauty and I am severely tempted, but already have a B3K. Thankfully I live near a stockist so I can get to try one out, make an informed decision, then buy one regardless!
  5. Hello all, My Overwater by Tanglewood Contemporary Jazz 5 in trans blue is NOW SOLD
  6. I've got the Empress Compressor which has a mix/blend control for parallel compression, which works and sounds. It's not small, but is packed with features and has great metering, as well as side chain capabilities, but I set it quite subtly, so haven't had the need to use that yet. I will confess, compression is quite new to me, so I am still in the experimental stages with it.

  9. Up for sale is an Overwater by Tanglewood Classic Jazz passive 4 string in Candy Apple Red. It has a black scratchplate and PJ pickup config. It's 14 months old and in good condition, recently fitted with the new Elixir Stainless strings. Comes with a basic gig bag. The bass currently has an East J Retro preamp fitted, however I still have the original control plate so I am offering the bass in the standard passive configuration I bought it in. Looking for £270 ono, I am in West London/Berks borders so you can collect or I can ship if necessary. Shipping will be charged at couriers cost, I can be flexible with shipping methods. Otherwise, I can drop it off within a 30 mile radius if you cover the fuel costs. If you'd like it with the East preamp, let me know. I will hold off listing that separatley for the time being. I can take some more photos once I get home. PM me if you're interested! EDIT: The picture makes it appear that there's a dink and a scratch above the scratchplate, I can assure you that's not the case!
  10. Fuel Tank Jr has arrived and has been tested, there's no noise issues. I'll just keep an eye on the heat dissipation with the pedal attached to the top of the supply.
  11. I'm in one of those situations I'm sure we've all been in, you're on your 2nd pedal board of the year, you've run out of power and there's enough room on your board for one more object, but you'd rather save it for a pedal instead of the new power supply you've had to buy to fuel all your lovely stompboxes, you get me?! So, as this is my situation right now, I have considered mounting the new power supply on the board and sitting a pedal on top of it, as this particular pedal is behind another and needs some sort of riser to make the switch accessible and I could kill two birds with one Fuel Tank. However, in doing so, am I inviting horrible noise issues having a digital pedal sat on top of a transformer, should it be fine or should I just shut up, stop asking questions and try it out first?
  12. Looks like Wobo are no longer trading, so I shall keep an eye out on the used pedal market. Paul, I'm never using non-isolated power supplies after previous experiences. Fortunately, a bit of recent eBaying and selling on here has meant I have the fund to buy a T Rex Fuel Tank Jr, which can sit alongside the MXR MC403 and give me another 5 isolated power outlets. I can even use the mains outlet on the MC403 so I still just have 1 mains plug to power the board.
  13. GEORGE L'S PLUGS ALL SOLD I have 2mtrs of unused, uncut Evidence Audio Monorail cable. Cannot remember what I paid for it a few months back, yours for £10 shipped.
  14. Thanks for the advice, I'll contact Wobo and find out pricing. Next issue to solve is more power, as I've run out of 9v outlets on my power supply!
  15. Having spent the day re-jigging my board, I've been thinking about how to get the most out of my Line 6 M5 by having the ability to move its position withing the signal chain. I'm running the following signal path: Tuner-> buffer -> compressor -> octaver -> synth wah -> OD -> Muff -> phaser -> chorus -> tremolo -> M5 -> delay Ideally, I'd like to be able to switch the M5 from its current position to the front of the chain, will a Boss LS-2 enable me to do this or can any of you suggest another pedal that can achieve this?
  16. I've spent the afternoon making up the new patch cables for my board as I was having issues with the George L's patch leads. My next job is getting to the underside of the board and wiring & routing the power cables, along with labelling the power supply outlets so I don't fry nice pedals with incorrect voltage. I also need to to pin down some patch cables for neatness. I'm also thinking about a loop switch to route the M5 from the back of the chain to the front, so I can use and effect the modulation settings, then hooking up an expression pedal.
