6. Bought an Eminence upright from Oli Hayhurst. Oli was a first time BC poster with no feedback, but he's a well known musician, so I had no problems. Great comms all the way through, and the instrument arrived really well packed and quickly. Thanks Oli, it was a pleasure.
7. Hi Chris, Hope you are well. Do you still travel to Wales regularly? Cheers Chris
8. I bought the chrome topped version of this (non-pcb) just over a year ago and it immediately cured all my GAS. I literally haven't spent a penny on gear since Deecember 2014. So buying this will save you a fortune.

10. Great guy, fixed my problem quickly, it cost less than I expected - so all good. He's just north of cardiff
11. Thanks everyone, I'll start the hunt for a clean boost pedal after Christmas. Chris
12. I got an Ampeg B-15 (heritage) a few weeks ago, my first all-valve amp. It's glorious. I want to get a slightly overdriven tone at low volumes (kids in bed volume level). I don't want to colour the signal at all, just add a bit of grit. Nothing too manic. It doesn't have gain control, so what's the best way to do this with an all-tube amp? I don't want knacker anything through ignorance. Do I need a clean boost pedal to push the pre tubes? Or is there some other better way? I want to keep things as simple and 'natural' as possible. Cheers Chris
13. I bought an Ampeg Heritage B15 from Mark. Apart from my house and car, this was one of the most expensive things I've ever bought and Mark made things very easy. I was slightly nervous about sending someone I'd never met a four figure sum, but Mark was brilliant with his comms and I felt totally at ease. He's been a real gent. Amp arrived today and I will be putting it through it's paces tonight at rehearsals. Thanks Mark, I appreciate you selling this beauty to me.
14.
Just out of interest, what cab were you using with it?
Im using the matching 115. Pretty impressed with it too. I had an Ampeg combo a year or two ago and had to reglue the cab joints to stop it rattling, but this is solid.
15.
.. as I rather like that little amp.
I absolutely love it, 13 months with zero problems, so I'm happy to give them another chance. It's so perfect for 80% of the gigs we play, GAK are going to take it back, no questions asked. Looks like I'm going to have to bodge something together with my VT Bass DI and an old power amp for my gig next week!
16. Cheers gents, I'll see what GAK says and then go from there. 10 mins research shows I'm not the only one who's PF-500 has turned into a smoke machine.
17. 10 minutes ago... I was practising at bedroom level, I lost signal, it started buzzing and then went 'bang' filling the room with burnt popcorn smelling smoke! It's 13 months old, but just checked on the Ampeg site and it's covered by a 2 year warranty. Phew. Does anyone know who to contact in the UK with warranty claims? Thanks, Chris
18. I saw Squeeze on TV using a few fans on stage - tracked them down and it's called a Vornado 733. Managed to get one from Germany on eBay for about fifty quid. It even keeps the dancing punters cool!
19. Are you hanging on to this Mark or are you still considering selling it?
20. I tried a digital EQ pedal last night (with a slight mids tweak) and this will work a treat and means I don't need to buy anything! Thanks for all the info and advice on this, really appreciated. Chris
21. Hello all, We have a couple of numbers in our set list that require me to turn up my volume just a bit for a whole song or just part of a song. I don't want my tone to change, I just want increased volume. I'm a big fan of 'simple stuff', especially in a live playing situation. Will a clean boost pedal (with any tone controls set flat) do this for me? Clean boost pedals seem to range from 30 quid to hundreds. As I don't want tone shaping, will a simple EHX LPB-1 be OK or am I better off stumping up the extra for an Xotic or Basswitch pedal? Cheers Chris
