2. Got this only a week ago or so from our very own walbassist. Had a play with it and it just ain't me, I like the tones of the shuttle. So am looking to trade for a shuttle 9.0 ideally or maybe a nice jazz or sell at £445 plus postage. Thanks
3. Hi folks. I have the shuttle 6 at mo and was considering the 9.0 as a few forums say it provides an improvement on the bass and high freq ranges. Yes hard to believe it can be better! I only need one cab for most gigs, which is the 300watt berg. The amp puts out 500 watt into 8ohms. My fear is it may frazzle my cab, although I never have the shuttle 6.0 past 9'oclock. Anyone any experience or advice to give. If anyone has one and wants to trade for a streamliner sl600 let Me know. It ain't my cup of tea unfortunately. Cheers t
4. Mmm.. Shuttle 9.0 with 2 x ae112? Aren't the ae112 cabs rated at 350 watts each? I'd looked at the 9.0 over the 6 a while a go because of its enhanced bass output, but stayed away as I only have the one ae112 and didn't want to blow it. Was I worrying to much?

6. Thanks folks the advice do far. In terms in string spacing if I want something quite slim necked what kind of space range should I be looking at? 17mm etc?
7. Well I've emailed twice now and still no reply. Great colour, looks like it might be a no go.
8. Mmm.... Food for thought. Any thoughts on the fender Mexican jazz 5 strings, are they better made than the squires?
9. As it says above, I have never owned one and want to get something cheap ish as a starting point to test the water. I love jazzes and pretty stubby fingers, so didn't want anything to big and clumsy. Seen a couple of 5 string jazzes at a reasonable price but also seen a few comments on here saying the low b can be a bit naff. Any advice/tips?
10. Stook a badass on my 79 jazz it made a massive difference to the sustain.
11. I have had a set of er15's for about 4 months now after being told my frequency range had gone by about 40%. However i just ain't adapting to them, I often find with both plugs in I can hear jack sh*t of any cymbals and end always end up taking one of the plugs out depending what side of the stage I end up on. Protector myself the most on the drummers side(noisy bastards!). Not sure if I should try mixing them up by buying one single 9db filter or a full set, or even look at the aforementioned IEM plugs just concerned that the 9db are not approved by the hearing councils as Official protection and the IEM wouldnt really provide that much protection would it? just more of a tailored mix? Anyone any expeience on either solution etc.? Speak up I cant hear you ;-)
12.
Your ears hurt or ring after playing loud music.... you have just suffered ear damage and have lost some of your hearing ability. If you continue you will accumulate more damage until you hearing is severely impaired. This is fact. Protect yourself. Do it properly, don't skimp; don't think your doing a good job by saving pennies. I have had to start looking for a better solution than foam plugs and I have found it. Check out Advanced Communication Solutions on the web, www.hearingprotection.co.uk. . These moulded plugs are approx £160 but they cut db across the whole range. They are expensive but they are good, they work and they protect you. You have to get used to the feel of plugs in your ears and the other band members will take the piss, but you might not be able to play in a band in a few years time if you do not do this properly.
Yep, it happened to me. Wear the er15's at mo. still getting used to them, you can change the filters and also add monitor modules to the moulds.
13. Yep, no more unwanted rumble, just clear defined low end and punch. Even in a studio environment it makes an improvement.
14. Thanks for all comments. The purchase has been made via our very own walbassist. Can't wait for it to arrive!
15.
£440 now includes postage in the UK.
Sold! I'll email ya to discuss payment etc. Tony
16.
I didn't find the Streamliner muddy at all, I'd be happy to use either for the rest of my days
i can't resist any more!!!
17.
The whole tone of the Streamliner is just MUCH MUCH bigger, and rounder, and fatter. It really is like an all tube amp, but it can do this very very clean with zero grit, if you want that. You can add a lot of grit and grind if you like, but that's just part of the package. You wont have the sparkly/precise nature of the Shuttle, but the Streamliner is stull VERY articulate considering how tubey it is. It just has more bounce and thud to the notes I'm waiting for the next line of Shuttle's to hit the UK (Im guessing after NAMM 2012) to pick up a replacement for the LM3 I sent back.
Exactely my thoughts, I kinda love that sparkly top end on the shuttle but often, well more times than not end up using the sansamp through it, for a bit of beef. I number of comments have made me a bit unsure saying the bottom End can be quite muddy and undefined? Are they just not making the most of the eq?
18. Make sure the presence is relatively low.
19.
There are threads on Talkbass about Streamliner and Shuttle comparisons.
I know Chris, conflicting views. Some saying they the streamliners are the dogs dodahs and others saying stick with the shuttle.
20. Anyone in the northwest got ones of these or knows a shop with stock a can trial. Want to pull the trigger but unsure if it's better than my shuttle. Any other comments appreciated. Thanks Tony
