1. Check these out. You can find them for sale on ebay in the USA and you'd have change... Very light, active bass that can do just about anything. I have a few of them and I'm a Biiiiig fan of them, oh, they look bada$$ too!!!!! Traben Basses
2. +1 for the Sandberg, great for the money..... Although, this would be my preferred colour..... Sandberg JM5
3. Here's a link to a site where there are some free software drum programs. (I personally prefer HotStepper and HammerHead)(H.S. has the edge) Great for jamming with as they are easy to program, or for quick ideas to your 4 track.... None of 'em will replace a good drum machine (Or drummer) but here you go..... 4. This might sound stupid, but every time I've recorded (or played live), I am thankful I've done it. Since there is a lot of sitting on your arse doing nothing, before you start recording, take yourself to the bathroom, and run your dry hands under the hand dryer for a couple of minutes, warm everything up, that way the muscles in your hands will be nice and relaxed... like I say, sounds silly, but you'll avoid any cramps, or tight muscles that might slow you down.... Try it!!!!
5. My best 'crap bass', hmmmm so many in my past. Probably a Hamer Slammer short scale bass (You could play fast as arseholes on it). Worst crap bass.... Either a Squier P bass special, or the mother of all crap, a Satellite short scale P bass.
6. Just downloaded Hydrogen.... It's pretty impressive, easy to use, good sounds too.
7. So you couldn't resist getting that other Status.... Niiiiiice. Of all the basses I've sold. I miss my status the most..... (Great, now I'm miserable!!!!)
8. Folks, This I posted in answer to a question in another forum, I thought it worth repeating as it never hurts to get something for free...... Here's a link to a site where there are some free software drum programs. (I personally prefer HotStepper and HammerHead)(H.S. has the edge) Great for jamming with as they are easy to program, or for quick ideas to your 4 track.... None of 'em will replace a good drum machine (Or drummer) but here you go..... http://www.threechords.com/hammerhead/other_drumboxes.shtml check them out, let me know what you think...... (keep it low, keep it loud)
9. Hi guys, For those that want a good, simple Software drum program for jamming along here's a URL to check out. It features several FREE programs. I personally use HammerHead and HotStepper. (HotStepper has the edge) dead easy for creating tracks to jam with, or for making demos.... None of these would replace either a) a drummer, or a good drum machine, but they work great for jotting ideas to your 4 track of practice.... here it is: http://www.threechords.com/hammerhead/other_drumboxes.shtml (Keep it low, keep it loud)
10. I heard Primus today.... 'Jerry is a racecar driver' Claypool is insane!!!!!!
11. Max, Hi, I'm a noob too..... So far, a great place to hang out and talk to the real musicians in a band!!!!!! (Keep it low, keep it loud!)
12. Damn, that thing's got more knobs than Yates' wine lodge....
13. Big Red.. Nice...... Since we're doing Traben porn, here's one of mine......
14. BUY IT...... I always regret selling my Status. and that one's a beaut.
15. Queen - Yep they are bloody awesome. But no 6 string... (I never could get on with a sixer, so I'm ok) :-) So, what do you have, Where did you get it?????? Foxen - Oh, I'll be bringing my 3 Traben's back to England with me... (2xNeo's and a Tribal Sun) But somehow, I don't think 3 will be enough...... And the Chaos is a great bass......
16. This is for purely selfish reasons..... I own a few basses from the Traben Bass Company, and I they are by a mile the most interesting bass manufacturer out there. their 'bigger bridge' and brass nut gives you serious sustain... I am moving back to Blighty, living in the USA at the mo' and wonder how many fans of these are out there... Oh, and a dealer of them in England would be cool too, rather than import them from the US when I arrive. Anyway, just wondering what folks think, over to you.... (Keep it low, keep it loud)
17. I play basses from Traben. U.S. manufacturer, korean made. They are absolutely fantastic. They have HUGE bridges, brass nuts, sustain forever, Oh, and look badass. This is my Traben Tribal Sun. I also own couple of Neo 4's. I doubt I'll play any other brand now, love 'em
18. Ashdown Mini Rig, now discontinued, but if ya see one, buy it, great tone.
