3.
Well, married life is awesome. But my lack of funds and space in my house means I have to let go of my stack, and some other bits; hopefully I can use the money to buy a decent combo. Will get some photos up soon, all prices are negotiable, and i can do deals if people want to buy more than one part of the set. There is a 4u rack with the preamp and amp; this can be part of the deal if both are bought.....also have 2 Speakon-jack leads for the cabs.

    worth a shot together?

  5.
I couldn't do it for a number of reasons:

    Lack of knowledge.

Lack of time (I'm at work 13 hours a day)

I'm not the driving force behind the band.

To a degree, we already have a manager, the guy who co-founded the band. He runs the myspace and books alll the gigs etc. It was his suggestion to look at getting proper management.
D.I.Y mate. between your band you CAN do the business end.
be honest and open with other members, share out jobs to what suits each of you best and keep a diary of gigs/money/expenses etc. so everthings covered. if you can hold down a job and manage your bank account then you can manage your band easy.
Remeber the band belongs to the members not people wo just want a peice of the pie.

    good luck with it.

  6.
Hmmm...

I've got two 2x10s that both have 5" midrange drivers in em. (that used to belong to Alex ^!)

And I've got a large Ampeg Combo that has a 15" and an 8" biamped.
got photos?

im very tempted to get a cab like this for my next purchse. would just hope i can find something light in wieght and light on the wallet!

  7. Any decent band SHOULD be able to manage themself.
I've had 2 managers for bands (5 or 6 bands over 14years) and both have done nothing. Times without a manger where more productive, we got more and better gigs off our own back, in to a studio that we liked and not one of his mates garage studios.
Managers are leeches, just down the scale from record company suits.

    FTW

  8. Any Basschatter play through a cab with differnt size speakers in the one enclosure? Lets say a 1x15 + 1x10 + 1x6.5? or a 2x12 + 1x8?
What are the pros and cons on this kind of enclosure? (does it have a name.....MULTI CAB!!??)
Purchased or created buy there own loving hands?
    Lets see what you got.

  9. Well now that im back into my music and enjoy playing again, it's only gonna be a matter of time before i need to get a decent rig. I have always loved ampeg but for some reason opted for an ashdown a few years back as my live set up. However i got rid of that last year and have been playing through a laney combo since.

Now to cut a long story short, im gonna save up my pocket money and buy a new amp next year. Hopefully an Ampeg.
Price wise i wont be able to get a valve head so solid state it is and dont have the transport for a 810 cab so 410 is what i'll aim for.
also want minamal knobs, buttons, and gizmos. plug in and play.
Lookeds at the B1RE 300w. got all the dials i need anyone got one? anygood? what else could i get as an alternative to that or should i look at the second hand market?

  10.
It might be slightly less noisy. Do it and see if it's any better, it might not make any difference!

Regarding your chain - I wouldn't change anything. I would try swapping the OD and chorus, but you've probably already done that. I would also try the volume pedal before the OD as you might like the tone of a slight volume cut before the OD without having to mess with your volume knob on the bass.
no not swapped anything yet. i'll try have a wangle with it tonight before practice.

    Cheers for the info.

  11.
You could use it as a mute and take your tuner out of the chain - use the other chorus output for the tuner.
not just a pretty face i see! thanks for the idea. i am toying with my chain at the moment (!) trying to work out what is best (another threasd on it in the effects forum). any major advantage to taking my TU-2 out?

  12.
What do you use your volume pedal for?
erm.......volume....

apologies, it's stayed im my board from my last band where we had this overdriven into where each note faded in and out on bass. planning on using it again for something sameish with my newer band.

  13.
how are you using the mxr, as a distortion or a di
distortion. got a lovely sound out of it at the moment. put it always has the preamp switched on as it seems i just can't play without it. so dist and pre amp. not gigged or recorded in a couple of years so never used the D.I yet. but no dout will at some point.
