1. Neck Profiles: C, D, Asymmetrical.....etc I need to decide upon a neck profile for a five string bass which I have just ordered! So any thoughts which might help me decide would be much appreciated. I'm moving up from a four to a five so it's gonna feel strange regardless! I hear a lot of good things about the asymmetrical necks so any thoughts on that would be appreciated. As it stands the only specification I'm providing for the neck is the fingerboard which I am going for completely flat. As for the back, the actual neck profile I'm not sure what would be best. I previously owned a Warwick thumb 4, the neck I loved. Had a few jazz basses which again were great. Also had a Warwick corvette 5 which was good however I hated the Warwick corvette rock bass 4 string which I tried in a store and I think that was a 'D' shape? I'm thinking 5 should be flatter but maybe for structural strength it might not be as flat as I'm expecting!
2. I'm curious...I know it tends to be a 'feel' thing but I just wondered if you could be specific about what or which elements of the bass your finding uncomfortable? - Like pickup placement etc Thanks
3. Hey, Sounds like a great bass...I'm quite interested; What's the string spacing? Also would you be able to send me some pics please to: [email protected] Thanks
4. Making a profit from playing was never that important to me....I just enjoyed playing...Have played for about 25 years, out of which have spent about 10 years gigging, mainly in bands I didn't necessarily like and a lot of stand ins for one offs. I found that offering my services to stand in as bass player for any band was great in terms of absolutely everything. It didn't matter about whether or not I enjoyed the music, it was a challenge to have to learn new material usually a week prep tops so you learnt a lot, and that was enjoyable in itself. You turn up with your gear in your car and at the end, pack up and go. most times I was paid up front by the band at pre gig rehearsal...Was a great time and the band usually were very appreciative:) As opposed to being in a full time band with all the stress and issues that go with that !
5. I'm in the market for a Yamaha TRB-6 JP - Never played a six so for me this really is in at the 'deep' end... All trades considered including a PX deal on my Miller Jazz Bass.
6. Hey buddy, is the RH450 still for sale????? If so are you open to offers?.....I only really require the Rebel head unless we can thrash a deal out which includes the cab then I'm all ears. My budget was originally £750 for an RH750 alone but I am thinking a 450 with the additional cab will be fine (Already have other cabs!). With all respect to you please let me know how £700 / £750 sounds for a quick deal and I'll arrange my own courier. Regards David
7.
One last shout to David (Fl3tch3rb0y) then I'll offer to someone else Cheers Graham
Thanks for the offer Graham...Being honest its probably just outside of my budget right now (Cash). I emailed an online shop and can pick one up for £650, free delivery, 12 months guarantee on 12 months interest free credit so I'm kinda thinking that might be better for me and only £54 per month. I hope you make a sale tho so good luck with that. Regards David
8. Hey, Re: RH450 I'm looking for a new amp but my budget was originally for an ABM around 400GBP... If the 450 is still for sale would you accept a symmetrical £450 if I arrange my own courier / collection? Best wishes David
9. Hey, Is the RH450 still available / for sale ?? Thanks David
Hi, Looking to sell my RH450, as mentioned above, it's only been used as a back-up and for practicing in the headphones at home. It's about 10 months old, I've still got the original box/packaging and the manual. I use the Staccato '51 as my primary amp which has been ultra-reliable so the RH450 is a luxury I don't really need. I can throw in a case in with it if the offer is a good one. Price is £525 ono including postage if you want me to send it via a courier (please don't be afraid to make an offer.....I am prone to being reasonable) As for trades, a classic RH450 plus cash would be fine or Markbass heads, Eden Heads or a bass plus cash...otherwise anything else that may be interesting. I'm willing to travel to deliver/meet up as I'm out and about a fair amount. I'll be at the bash on Sunday 9th Jan, let me know if you want me to bring it over. I'll get some pix up soon......it is in mint condition though... Cheers Mike G.
