I have just bought a Ampeg B200r and i want to replace the preamp tube because i am unsure if this has ever been done however i don't think there is anything wrong with it.
Any suggestions from the valve purists? -
I like it to be honest, its a little different to how I play it. I reckon i am going to adopt your method

A good buy if you ask me -

some thanks for taking the time guys
you have given me a lot to think about -
Im always looking in the basses for sale section and it seems to me there are a hell of a lot of gorgeous 5 stringers out there, but i am always reluctant to take the plunge because I have never played one.
What I am asking is what are the advantages and disadvantages of owning a 5er? -

I have watch a few vids on youtube and they do sound pretty damn good, I was just a question of £155 good. I wouldn't mind a Ravish Sitar they sound the business but thats another £150+

Sorry mate i aint got a PRS 22/24 might be able to help with the birds though, there two pigeons who keep trying to build a nest on my satalite dish. Your welcome to them as soon as i have shot them................joke
Have a lovely Status bump -
I always use the passive input it really pushes the tubes in my head without having to crank it up.
-
I have been contemplating getting one of these for a while but they are pretty expensive so i was wondering who's got one and are they any good?
-
Beautiful, I would be all over this if it wasn't a fiver

I have had an idea, I was thinking of buying an Ashdown 220 Touring combo and using my existing lb112 cab as an extension
Keeping my lb30 head and using it for those smaller venues or even running both in stereo
Good Idea? -
How would you compare the mofo to the lb30?

Ashdown LB30 head with 112 or 212 cab?

I have the same setup and asked the very same question on another post. I also thought of buying a 2x12, but i wanted more headroom in a gigging situation. I took my LB30 to practice and plugged it in to a Hartke 4.5xl at 8ohms, cranked right up and using the active setting on my Kubicki pushing though the passive input and I still struggled to hear it over our band and I didn't see the needle drop out the red!
