It's a neck constructed of multiple laminates of rock maple (32 or 36 IIRC) capped with an ebony fingerboard. Phil Kubicki did this as a way of getting a super strong, lightweight neck without having to resort to expensive carbon fibre components (when this bass was designed in the mid 80's carbon fibre components were still the preserve of aerospace companies for the most part).

Thank you for such a concise answer to the previous question Chris :)

  3. Hi Guys

I would really appreciate it if members of facebook would like our page

    http://www.facebook.com/chaosparade

We are trying to promote our band as much as possible and really appreciate your support.

    Thanks in anticipation Dean.

P.S any feedback would be apreciated

  4. Jesus Ian you beat me to it.

i'm the bass player in Chaos Parade and due to Ian's injury we need someone to take his place within the band. As already said the band have many influence's and we are still trying to hone in our our sound which should make it easy for any guitarist to adapt and bring in new ideas. Ian has been using some awesome effects in our current setlist which consists of four covers and three originals with our singer/frontman writing new material all the time.

Our current set is around 30-35 minutes long i think the idea is to continue writing and one by one get rid of a cover then eventually we will be only playing our own stuff, something that each member is passionate about.

Ideally we need someone who can come in and hit the ground running, at the moment we are averaging a gig a month and try to practice at least once a week so commitment is essential. it would be a good idea for anyone interested to get in touch, learn a few of the covers then come and have a jam with us and see what happens. Generally practice has been of a weekend for a round 4 hours

You can also drop me a pm if interested, send me your number and we will have chat.

  5. Alright dude a local welcome ;)

I must admit i'm also a John Taylor fan, he's produced some awesome bass lines. i try to learn them sometimes but the best ones are just to fast! its still nice to attempt them though

Sorry for the delay in the reply, i dont check the post as often as i used to. It sounds great the valves break up really nice. Don't be put of by the 30w this thing is loud and isnt a problem for small medium sized venues, any bigger you can always di it.
