its overall design is different - half closed gear. No ferule, its replaced with a sleeve type bolt and washer which hold the tuner in place. No screws needed to hold this in place. Also, it has two small posts that fit to corresponding holes on the back of the headstock which stops it slipping. Although this is easily installed into any Fender type bass and would work well, it probably wont aesthetically match with with the other tuners. -
