1. OK, so it seems that now these great short scale basses can only be preordered to be delivered by beginning of November. So the queue just got longer! Get one now and jump the queue - with a discount.
2. Sale price: £449.00 including hard case. Jump the Queue! These can be ordered from Scott Whitely website on PREORDER. So you would have to wait. This one is available here and now, new, unblemished, just as I received it from Scott. The cost from Scott's website would be £499.00 plus another £69.00 for the case, a total of £568.00. It took rather longer than the preorder time to come so in the meantime I got something else (a couple of something’s actually) and so now I have to cull what I’ve got. This is brand new so is the best candidate. It has remained in the case since I got it, coming out only for the occasional try out. The SWB-1 Standard is a professional, modern-sounding short scale bass at an affordable price. I believe it has a similar spec to the one Scott Whitley uses himself. This one has a mahogany body which is lighter that the ash alternative (according to Scott) and is active. It also comes with a hard case which would ordinarily cost an extra £69. Sale price: £449.00 plus free hard case. Shipping at buyers expense. So you get the whole shebang for £50 off the bass itself, a free case, and you don’t have to wait. 3. Yes, this is very easy to play. And easy on the back too, being so light. Lovely piece of kit.
4. Thanks for the nice coments, Three. Yes a lovely bass. And an eight hour gig! Jeez, try that with a 12lb plank round your neck.

6. Here's mine from Tom and Will. Had it a few years, no problem. Well made, robust zips. plenty pockets. You can get one here: http://www.chamberla...CFYcp0wodyC4P3Q
7. This must be one of the best short scale (30") bass guitars on the market. It was originally designed for Garry Tallent from Bruce Springsteen's backing band, the E street band. This one was built by Stuart Spector in New York in November 2013. The RRP is currently £2,799 and best street price is around £2,200 so this must be a bargain. With a lightweight swamp ash body, a 3 piece graphite reinforced maple neck, pau ferro fingerboard, and 30 & 3/8 inch scale it is superbly easy to play. Electronics include Aguilar J pickups along with Aguilar OBP 3 band eq with 2 selectable mid frequencies which gives the bass a large range of useable tones. I bought this on Basschat a couple of months ago from Pestie (Mike), who bought it new from Bass Direct, and it's not been out of the house since. You can see the Basschat sale here: http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 Financial reasons force me to sell, love it as I do. It has however inspired to me stick to short-scale. As to the condition, there is not a scratch, ding, or scuff on it – just as I bought it from Pestie. It comes with original Spector hard shell case also in excellent condition. Here are some more Spector blurbs: It has the ORIGINAL DEEP SOCKET NECK INSERT™ design. Stuart Spector invented this neck/socket design to allow bolt-on basses to have increased sustain and stability. Lightweight body with a top of quilted Maple. The Neck is 3 Piece Rock-Maple graphite reinforced with 24 fret Pau Ferro (Bolivian Rosewood) fingerboard and mother of pearl SPECTOR® Crown Inlays. 30 3/8" scale, 22 frets Deep Socket Neck Insert™ for maximum sustain and stability Pau Ferro Fingerboard, 16" radius Original Spector NS curved body style Brass nut width 1.64" Black Hardware Custom Hipshot A style Brass Bridge Gotoh GB70 Tuners Aquilar OBP3 active preamp, bass, treble, mid (with push/pull frequency select), volume, volume Weight - 3.4kg/7lb 9oz Price:£1400.00 Will consider offers. Pickup in person preferred but I can ship at buyers expense. You are welcome to come to check it out at Farnham.
8. Just bought Warwick Corvette short scale from Tim. Arrived the day after he posted it. Well packed and just as he desribed. Lovely instrument in mint condition. Tim has been very helpful and friendly throughout. Highly recommended. :-) Thanks Tim.
9. Recently bought Spector Shorty from Pestie. Picked it up in person, had a cup of tea and a chat (bass chat!). Mike is a very pleasant guy to do business with - friendly, straight forward and honest. Pleasure to do business with. And a great bass to boot. His description in the advert was on the nail. Highly recommended.
