I know all this is subjective, and Anita Baker was indeed an astonishing artist, but may I humbly nominate Carla Thomas and possibly Koko Taylor? Just if we were to be putting together a top ten...

You have a pm sir.

Whereabouts are you based?

I like the cut of your jib. The gig is Sunday September the 9th not sure of the timings yet but I know it's afternoon. If you don't have a cash buyer by then I would be happy to take her off your hands.

Close enough to maybe pop over with a Trace Elliott wedge? Perhaps have a pint bought for you, should you be so inclined?

Radnor Arms. 32 Coleshill, Coleshill SN6 7PR
So good they names it twice..

Ha ha - a very good answer. Obviously not somewhere you visit habitually. I have a gig there early September on a Sunday afternoon and I thought it might be in your neck of the womb. Hang on let me check I even have the name right.
-
Is Coleshill particularly far from your place?
-
Ooh, I want to try one of these. Wait, Glasgow?? Dammit. Do you have a holiday planned for the West Country any time soon?
-
When will you be in Bath?
-
Do you have the bridge and pick up covers?
-
Ok, thank you.

Only thing putting me off is not being able to adjust the intonation. How does it play beyond the 12th fret? Does it stay close or do end up bending strings into tune?

Damn this thread. Now I am trembling with cab gas after seeing Walshy's Retro 6X10. Bugger bugger bugger.

I'm like a footy manager with a big squad but no real idea as to his first choice 11. I actually enjoy chopping and changing amps and cab combinations with different basses. It's not a never ending quest for that mythical grail of the perfect sound. I know that being an addict I won't ever understand the concept of 'enough', when I get what I'm looking for I just wonder what's next.
So, last gig I matched my trusty old Eden Nemesis with two MB 1X15s and played my 1983 Aria, the one I'd save from the fire, and it sounded ace. Next gig I might try a Behringer head through a single Barefaced cab and put a Harley Benton jazz through it. Who knows?
The only certainty is I will never go back to heavy cabs. Heads yes, cabs no.

I've just found this thread. Bought this chorus second hand from BC and being the vague, unfocussed fool that I am never paid attention to the voltage. I've had it on my board running off a 9v supply. Could this explain the weird intermittent sound issues I've experienced?

It's a fascinating concept. I'm interested but my goodness, can more than one Basschatter really agree on a single design?

In a community chock full of decent honest reliable people Bill still manages to stand out. Just bought a Zoom B3 from him and it was packaged, proof of postage sent to me along with a phone number to clear up any potential problems, all within the blink of an eye. A top man with whom I would deal again happily.

So it finally happened. After a long hiatus we at last got the band off the ground and I have lost my singing in public cherry. In the end I simplified the bass line under the verses to a straight four so I literally didn't have to think about it and concentrated on delivering the vocal line. The more comfortable I became with words and structure the easier it was to add to the bass part. It's not perfect yet but I have a vocal coach and she's working on the weaknesses in my voice. A lot of work but my God it was fun.

Don't suppose the good people at The Guitar World Shop Store will consider moving from Jinling Dong Lu for me to try a new one either.
Aretha Franklin wasn't the queen of soul.

When has an internet discussion based on opinion and individual taste ever been anything other than polite?
