  1. As promised some short audio samples of the bass (you have to click on the link in order to hear the other ones) Enjoy!
  2. Hello, Thanks all for the comments. Will try to do a soundclip soon! :)
  3. Hello all, Reviving the thread since my search has come to and end SO! Long story short I was in a hunt for a "p51" (slab board) bass for years, did quite a research, looked for builders, luthiers even looking to mod a cheap Harley Benton or a Squier. My price range was around 800-1200 usd, so options like Fender Custom shop were out of the range. Also another thing that I really like is the "worn" and "relic" look, therefor the "crafted in japan" model, which is great, also fell out of the choices. I was looking for a true passive, "first electric bass", no frills like Leo would have built it bass Finally... my eyes fell on this luthier from Rome (Italy) called Luca and his ALNUS Basses. He runs a Reverb shop. Does all the wood work himself, all the relicing, the hardware is from Korea (which the relics by himself) and also wires the pickup himself. The bass sounds GREAT. Has the true vintage tone and feel. When the bass came I have to make a little setup since it was BRAND NEW, after that and after I put my trusted Thomasticks flats on ... BOOM ... true 50s fender bass. I invite you all to check his Reverb: https://reverb.com/shop/luca-1 There are some really nice basses. Hope you like it as much as I do
  4. You won't be disappointed ... I assure you that.
  5. It is.. and I do thing their aerotech technology is a game changer for sure. Their wooden cabs, being great as well too, were light... but the aerotech man.. they're ridiculously light without interfering on the sound.
  6. wasn't but the settings were similar (let's say my "preferred" settings) to those "non pure" on the GR
  7. Sadly the BF is sold and not in my possession any more
  8. For a "flat" response in my clips you have the "pure" ones. If you engage the "pure" setting on the GR head it bypasses the eq section.
  9. 4 ohm because in my mind it's planned to be a standalone since all my projects are quickly moving to in ear so there's no need to have a large cab. Most of the time though I like to have one one, so one ear "free", therefor I still like to have a cab on stage. A friend of mine used to own the 212 from Barefaced and switched to Gr too (not the slim version like mine, but the "normal" version... also Aerotech though).
  10. https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/Super-Compact.htm (gen 2)
  11. Much more clearer, "di" sounding .. it doesen't colour the sound at all. The Barefaced is a TOP Notch cab although has some more lows, more boomy I might say. Some like it (I did for many years) but the more "uncolored" sound of the GR bass suits me more I have to say.
  12. Hello, just wanted to share the joy of getting the new (for me) Gr Bass amp and cab. I'm a 20 + bass player in the business (Europe) and had tried pretty much the "majority" from entry, mid and boutique amps. Said that, trying the Gr Bass was a whole new experience to me in terms of clarity, sound, ecc.. The amp is very clean, very responsive, does not "color" the sound at all regardless of which bass your're playing through. I've tested the head directly into my sound card and you can hear the sounds below. What to say about the cab though ? First of all it's ridiculously light. The new Aerotech technology gives the possibility to reduce the weight significantly without compromising the sound. We are talking of a 212 cab with 900w! Said that, as for the amp, the cab is very clean, powerful and fantastically built. Go check GR bass and their products!
  13. So, this morning I decide to do a little test between these 2 amazing amps. Received the Gr Bass yesterday so I did a comparison between what used to be my "to go" rig. I have to say that I'm amazed with the quality of Gr Bass, the tone, clarity and build quality. I must say I was quite skeptical regarding the weight of the At212 but man.. 900w, weights like a feather and amazing sound. So, enough talking, listen to them yourself Soundclound Link: Gr Bass 800 Vs Aguilar Tone Hammer 500

  19. Hello, i’m in a hunt for a great overdrive. I’m more into Pop-rock so no need for agressive metal modern tones. thank you

  21. Hi, tonight I decided to do a little comparison between two great bass preamps. I've received the Trickfish Minnow today and I must say it's an amazing piece of gear. The Radial thought remains an impressive preamp too. The basses used were: - Fbass Bn5 ash maple - Fender Precision custom shop L series Please be kind with my playing abilities Which one did you like the most ?
  22. NEW PRICE: 130 gpb / 150 eur Selling my near mint Radial Tonebone Bassbone v1. The pedal was bought new years ago from a shop and had really small use. Mostly at home for studio recording. Comes with original box and power supply. OPEN TO TRADES with bass effects of similar value. Shipping at buyer's cost. The pedal is in Slovenia. The Tonebone Bassbone allows the bass player to transition between the two different basses by simply depressing a foot selector switch. Each instrument channel on the Bassbone features separate level adjustment and equalization. On gigs where only one bass is used, the Bassbone automatically converts to a 2-channel preamp. The powerful on-board EQ allows the player to create two completely different sounds to create ‘the impression’ of two different basses
  23. Great seller here! have a free bump for one of the best amps out there!
  24. Just received today a GORGEOUS Fbass from Maciej. First of all let me say that this was one of the smoothest transaction ever. Maciej is super comprehensive, communicative and a great guy to deal with. The bass came perfect to my home and the package was something out of this world. Last but not least the guy packed some great polish sweets with the bass. TOP SELLER!
