Still a bit muddy, tried that. Perhaps a different Comp?
I always thought the comp was at the end of a signal chain
The Beta has a bit of a bass boost … so maybe a compressor with a high pass filter…?

I personally think that most the tone from a guitar or bass comes from the TONEWOOD, I’ve done extensive RESEARCH on the internets so don’t have the TIM to argue with uneducated people about that. What I would do is combine the BEST of all worlds to create a amazing axe - the body would have layers of ash, alder and mahogany letting me access all the major guitar tones - and then I would want in layers a 5A* burl top, then 5A*flame maple then with 5A* quilt top - expensive but worth it by having all the tone woods it gives you. ALL THE TONES
the fretboard I haven’t decided on but think maple under the D and G strings, wenge under the A and then Brazilian rosewood under the B and E string

Dammit, might be forced to sell my T-47 if my other gear continues to not sell despite good prices, as I know the Cog will be gone in seconds.
I have no idea how that nemisis hasn’t gone? It’s one of the cheaper I’ve seen

To the uninitiated what makes it a limited edition?

Thanks for the info.
one popped up half price (mint condition) online so I took a punt (can use it as a teaching bass/student loan bass if needed).
£140 delivered as new and a REAL bargain.
just as well made as my Sire, newer Squiers or higher end Harley Benton’s I own/have played.
ridiculous for the price (or 4/5 times what I paid!).
not plugged in yet but would be easy to upgrade if needed.
bridge and tuners look cheap but no more so than anything else sub £500 these days I think!
and again, cheap/easy upgrades!
lucky meesterbassman!

Actually, no i don't and to be honest i didn't even know it was a thing that bassists or guitarist did until i started to frequent guitar and bass forums on-line. Now i know there is a healthy 🙂 desire for doing it, i still would not consciously seek one. However if a fantastic bass i was already considering buying just happened to be of that year, that might just tip the scales.
I think it's a way of people of a certain age justifying to their other halfs spending extra on a vintage instrument

In other news, biopsy results today weren’t favourable so I have to go in for the same procedure again within three weeks and then chemo starts. 😞
Mate, big bass player love to you

I put my old main bass in a case under the bed. After 8 months or so of not playing or thinking about it it was quite releasing to sell it.

What you really need is an envelope filter with two inputs - one for the signal that is being processed and one for the "trigger" signal. That way you can put the filter wherever you want in the signal chain and split off the trigger signal from elsewhere.
Are there any devices like this?
Thinking your question wasn’t hypothetical …
Source audio C4/spectrum
chunk agent 00funk I think…
lovetone meatbox …

Why do you need that? I directly attach my exp pedal to my C4. It is the SA exp pedal though
The expression isn’t on the board - it’s to the side
in my head if I stand on the lead and breaks something it breaks the Jack In that wee box,not my C4 - also lets me tuck the c4 on the board where I might not have access to plug/unplug a cable

wasnt there a thing a few years back where guitarguitar andertons and PMT teamed up to act as defecto UK distributers for G&L ? It really wouldn't have surprised me if that turned out to be not as profitable as expected - and that meant that relationship stopping...

I wonder why both retailers are giving them a body-swerve? They're generally excellent basses and those two outfits are big players in guitar retail. Hope this isn't a sign of anything 'terminal' fir G&L? 🙁

I have two of each.
the main differences are my fingers are on the short side so 4 string is easier in some ways, and making sure the strings in the online shop are long enough for a 35 inch scale length

Following a few further Whatsapp messages overnight I'm going to try to download an app to control my own monitor mix as the sound chaps were clearly unable to cope with both the FOH and four IEM mixes. I think in the past, using wedges, we've got things to sound OK on stage with our own amps and mainly only having just the worship leader & his guitar/keyboard through the wedges - so minimum intellectual input by the guys running the desk. Suddenly when we had four/five people actually wanting specific mixes on different channels the whole thing fell apart. I have no doubt that using IEMs well make the FOH sound better/easier to mix, but if the band can't hear anything it is net loss.
Which is kinda expected - FOH plus lots of monitor mixes, which on IEM I think you end up being way more specific on is just too much for one person in a rush.
my 2p is if you can always do your own mix - mainly as you can trust yourself, if on the Qu-you app check for any master eq or compression left on your mix too.
How would You do ?

why wouldn't you compress after filter? Filter reacts to the input as normal, the signal kept under control a bit by the compressor?
