1. Rockbottom looted I really hope the owner has not seen this clip because it must hurt and anger so much to watch these tossers happily wandering about with all the guitars amps and anything else they can carry away from his shop.
 2. Rockbottom in croydon by all accounts has been completly cleared out by looters and pictures on sky news showed it earlier all smashed up. Got my first bass from there last year and as a kid used to go in there most weekends. They won't get payed out by insurance companies so i'm guessing thats it for them like many of the small bussiness in croydon.

Mint condition with box and instructions, reciept in box from when i bought it. £45 posted to UK only GEB-7 Next up my BBE OPTO STOMP Optical Compressor. This is what BBE say..... Players love the optical compressor in the highly acclaimed BBE B-Max bass preamp, so much so that BBE decided to offer the same compressor circuit in a stand-alone foot pedal. Opto Stomp soft-knee design offers transparent control of dynamics and very musical compression reminiscent of the classic designs of the best vintage optical-element compressors of the 50’s and 60’s. Other features include switchable -15dB pad, LED compression indicator, non-slip rubber bottom, easy-access 9v battery compartment and included external power supply. Has quite a few light scratches but perfect working order, comes with box. Looking for £65 inc. postage. 9. Up for sale my Flea 'StreetBass', bought new early this year for £220. Only been playing sinceoctober and fancied a second bass but am buying James OLP MM which i believe will be too similar a bass to have both. Looking £150 collected + £25 for delivery UK only (sorry) Few buckle scratches at the back and one small chip front of bass at the bottom. Its silver with black pick guard. Its fitted with GHS Bass Boomers. Here's a link about the bass from where i bought it Flea Streetbass Photo's to follow. 10.
I dunno if this helps (or hinders) but I would suggest trying to get from one end of a song to another "somehow" and then come back later to polish it up. In a band situation being able to "muddle through" is a skill in itself and is well worth acquiring. When I started, I'd being playing for months and it suddenly occurred to me that I'd never actually played a song from start to finish
Thanks for the advise and i've been thinking the same thing these last few weeks. So i think i'll get straight to work on a few songs i can play a half of already like californication and soul to squeeze, there 2 songs i'd love to be able to play all the way through. Thanks again.
 11. Excellent post there matey. I started playing late last year Oct/Nov and i'm a few months away from turning 40.Reading your post was very inspiring,i only hope i can get to the same standard in a few years,i especially look forward to being able to play by ear. At the moment i learn as much of a song (usually Chilli Peppers)as i can, via tabs and internet, when i get stuck i try as much as i can then leave it for a while, learn parts of other songs then go back to the bits i struggle on and find i can get a little further as my skills and finger speed increase slightly. Andy
 12. I really liked that.Nice work dude.
 13. Will probably up for that but not til next pay day. Andy.
 14.
Hi Andy Welcome and Happy New Year. At 37, I recently started playing the bass too . . . still rubbish, still learning and looking to take some lessons early in the new year, but loving it all the same! ps . I ride an Aprillia Shiver (bizzare name but awesome sound with the twin Akros) - used to have a Z750 which I just loved. Funnily enough I was in Box Hill this morning, for a walk with the family rather than on 2 wheels though. Christian.
Good to hear i'm not the only late starter on the bass. I think i know what your bike looks like, same style as Ducati Monster? Hope to see you up at Rykas some time.
 15.
You have just triggered a long forgotten memory - I can actually remember what Bootsy played - I just picked up my bass and played it - or at least an attempt at it
Which one, the lesson or the bit he does at the end of the program? There both on YouTube.
 16.
wow am i the only one who thinks flea is MASSIVELY overrated? I mean hes not Jaco or Wooten =L
Like i said in my post i've been a big Chili's fan on and off for a while so to me its about the music he makes with the rest of the band as well as his tone and also his high energy. I'm new to the Bass so as time goes on maybe my views on his playing ability will change BUT i really hope it doesn't and i don't think it will, as its his sound along with that Bootsy clip that got me to finally buy a bass.
 17. Yeah musky plenty of that still going on. Thanks for the welcome Paul and alanbass.
 18.
Oh yes, I remember Rock School Deidre Cartwright on guitar, Henry Thomas on bass.... Rock School
Good times, i think the thing that people do now days would be to start a Facebook page 'bring back Rock School' .lol
 19. Thanks for the welcome guy's.
 20.
Hi Andy, bet I can guess what you ride. My first bass came from a junk shop at the bottom of Sutton High St and my second was from Rockbottom, so we've got a few things in common there. Never had a Z750 though. Welcome to the forum.
Excellent stuff, do you live in the area? LOL yes i do love my Kawasaki and you can regularly find me at Box Hill on a sunday. Thanks for the welcome.
