1. Bump for a less slap-happy demo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpQwQp-zgoo
2. Now sold. I am selling up my bass stuff and sticking with electric guitar only, so as well as the beautiful Enfield Lionheart bass seen in the pics (see my for sale thread in Basses for Sale forum) I am parting with my Genz combo. I personally think it's the best light 10 inch combo in existence - easily carried in one hand with its neo speaker/tweeter combination, yet an awesome, punchy hi fi tone that articulates every sound of your bass. 175 watts into attached combo speaker, 300 watts if with extension cab. £340. I can send more pics on request, but here is the amp info link: http://www.genzbenz....&sid=610&cid=95 Shipping will be £12.
3. Now reduced to £1100. May consider trade with Status 2000 or Series II 4-string. A beautiful and highly versatile bass, but unfortunately I am favouring electric guitar over bass these days and I just can't justify keeping this as wall art. You may already know about the innovative SIMS pickups in these. If not, see the youtube demo below, but in essence each pick up is made up of 8 poles that can be switch-selected to single coil, split coil or humbucker (selections being colour led indicated - green single, but humbucker, red split). This gives 15 possible combinations and an amazing range of sounds. Combine that with the fact that this particular one was factory built with an upgraded East Retro 3 band preamp and you have a total tone machine that can cover vintage Precision thump to hi-fi modern sounds with ease. https://www.youtube....h?v=VV8MV9WzHaA Body is mahogany, as is neck (with rosewood fretboard) but the bass is very light - 8 1/2 lbs - and perfectly balanced. The bass is in great condition apart from one small (1mm) dink in the front near the upper contour bout and some marks around the truss rod adjustment hole on the colour matched headstock. I was going to have the dink filled in by SIMs but stopped noticing it almost as soon as I got the bass so never bothered. Any questions let me know - I can send any requested pics too. Bass comes with Hiscox flight case and is loaded with 40-95 strings on a very low action. These basses are are the talk of the town at the mo, so get your own at a considerable chunk off the new price - with the preamp upgrade this one would set you back well over £2k new.
4. I was thinking "what a cracking drummer!"... then I noticed who it was! Lovely bass - glws
5.
Got the Red version , love it , great Bass , GLWTS !
Thanks! Your good luck obviously worked, as bass is now SOLD
6.
Glad it served well! For a moment I was tempted to buy it back, then I remembered I've already spent the money: fretless fiver incoming! "GLWTS"
Thanks! Ryder bass now SOLD - Sonic Blue Squier Precision remains!
7. I now have sufficient packing materials to safely post either bass for £20 postage.
8. NOW SOLD Beautiful-condition incarnation of a well-regarded Precision. 2008 model. I bought this two weeks ago on here from Ras52 as I needed a low-priced, reliable bass for my school production. Production now finished, I no longer need a bass, so am happy to offer it for sale to someone who will be able to use it as more than just wall-candy! It does not have a gig bag so I am offering for local pickup only. 9. That made me chuckle - just sent back my bg250 2x8 because every time I switched it on it went pop, there was a bright flash of sparks from the preamp and a burning plastic smell. Nice to know I was not an isolated case. Very cheap combo but very boxy, plasticky sounding and clear qc issues. I previously ran a bh250 head through an rs210 and previous to that an rh450 with an rs210. In each case I was drawn by the aesthetics and the abundance of 'extras' for the price - tuner, tone print, flashy lights etc. However, they all sounded lacking in character. In between these TC experiences, I was fortunate enough to pick up a Genz shuttle 3t10 combo very cheap, and the difference in tone was astounding. The basses sounded round, clear, punchy and alive - and you could hear the true tone of each bass much more distinctly (status s2000, Kingbass and Alembic series 1) I am always tempted to try Markbass but would dearly love the little Genz again. Shame Fender bought them up and shut them down.
10. I'd love this but broke at the mo - what I will say having owned and recorded with one back in the early 2000s and having had quite a few statuses is that the zon is far more versatile - you can get it to sound like a status (a status can only sound like a status), but you can also get a far greater range of sounds including traditional ones. GLWTS!
11. Sorry- I can't play guitar! 6 strings confuse me lol Bump - any serious offers before eBay?

15. My dad was a musician all his life and I am very envious of his start point - 1914. He went from a 14 year old stomper and singer in Music Hall to dance halls, jazz clubs, recording work for the BBC; and ended up front man vocalist for Henry Hall band (UK equivalent of Glenn Miller), then led the RAF Bomber Command Big Band in WW2. After the war he played cruise ships (employed Ginger Baker as his drummer for a week but sacked him for being too busy and having no swing) and worked as a session singer in New York backing up Tony Bennett amongst others. He then established his own big band "Leslie Douglas Singers and Swingers" and had a regular stint as house band for Caxton Hall in the West End. In the early seventies he gave up singing and became a drummer himself for Mecca ballrooms then for his own trio. He was still playing every Saturday night into his eighties. To have been part of that Jazz age and the true age of live music as mass entertainment. That would have been awesome. So I Would go with 1910 ish
16. Take off the control cavity cover and spray wd40 over the circuit board and under it where the switches and rotaries are.
