1. Hi All, sorry for asking but curiosity is huge here...... I recently bought a used mkII 5 strings Wal, and I'd like to know if someone here has been one of the previous owners. W3910 mkII 5 strings - wenge facings, rosewood fretboard and chrome hardware. Thanks!
2.
Now if this was Bernard Edwards Stingray...
John Taylor fm Duran Duran now owns it; he had it donated by Bernie.
3. mono, second to none. If money is not a problem (we know it's very expensive), go for it. I own one since they came on the market, it has travelled hundreds of times in every kind of environment..... I'd buy it again.
4. it was more than 2 yrs ago, but then...... did Derek sell his Wals at end? thanks
5. last update, will be completed in a few days and I'll collect it early May......
6. thestick, it is really uncommon to see a top like yours on a Wal, and I like it very much. In the past I've had he chance to try several Wals, and Paul made ones feature better fit 6 finish and attention to details. If you went to Paul's workshop you might have seen my bass in the making; it should be done within March and this is how it looked like by the end of January.
7. thestick, more than beautiful; is it a "new run"?
8. Hi all BCers, I received an email fm Paul with attached pics of the available tops, and as stated by him my bass' ETD will be mid Jan - early Feb..... I was watching other new Wals pictures, and the last two basses spotted did not have the string retainer on the headstock; was it a customer's request or is it one of the "improvements" being made by Paul work in progress? Thanks, M.
9. Thanks Alan, I did not expect YOU to answer to my question, but it's defintely a plus and you've been very kind to do it. In the past you posted pics of a prototype stompbox with the pre built in..... did it make it's way onto the market? I found it very useful for bassist with a "quite" large arsenal Alan, you'll receive mail in a few days, thanks again, M.
10. hallo, I'm interested in buying subject preamp, and since by the end of october I should travel to London I'd like to know if there are music shops selling ACG preamps or in the negative if should I order one online! Thanks, M. ps - I'd like to install it in a MM stingRay; what model of preamp would you suggest? the 1 pickup wired to both coils of the MM humbucker or the 2 pickups version wired to the 2 coils separatedly?
11. Hi Nick, is your Wal one of the new ones? If Yes, could you pls post more pics? My Wal ETD is around Oct-Nov 2011..... I can't wait
12.
MB1. ....It's Roasted Tino but not as you know it!
I didn't get the Roasted Tino clue because I didn't know about it, and I then searched on google.......
13. Hi All, no BFR Roasted Stingrays here yet? Ok, then I think I should post a few pictures of mine..... hope you like it, M.
14.
After a years wait it finaly arrived!! freshly built from paul herman
littleal, by the end of November I was at Wal workshop to place an order for my bass, and happened to watch various wal basses pics with Paul Herman since I wanted to show him the way I wanted the figuring of the top wood. When we came across the pic of your bass, he sort of "jumped" saying that he was particularly satisfied with yours, far better looking in person than in photo and very good sounding. I just thought that it needed to be shared with you, M
15. stinson, Bass_Guardian, cd_david, thank you all the Fbass actually looks better in person that it does on the pic I posted; it has a beautiful (optional) birdseye maple fingerboard. M.
16. Hi All, as a newbie, after the due introduction thread, I start by posting a pic of a few of my basses, hoping you'll like them. M.
17. Thanks guys, I'm sure I'll have a great time here on Basschat; useful, supporting and...unfortunately G.A.S.inggg! KERMITNT, I will, but not at the same time, since I have only a part of it at home; I think I have a pic of some of my basses on the sofa that I took a few days ago. M.
18. Hi all, my name is Marco, and I'm from Rome(Ita).... I deeply wish I was new, but I'm not since I'm 40 and play bass since 1984. I've been quite a regular reader here but, I don't know why, I never registered to this forum. I play progressive rock, and my favourite bassists are Simon Gallup, Derek Forbes, John Taylor, Colin Hodgkinson, James Jamerson and last but not least Macca!!!
