  2. Hmm, I saw the MU at the LGS and never thought much of it...
As a student is it worth joining (60 quid a year)?
I looked at their benefits of joining but its all gobble dee gook to me..

  3. formatting with the manufacturer disks (usually found in dodgy parts of the web) will pretty much guarentee no data can be retrieved.. but im guessin on a pc like this its prob worth buyin a new IDE hard drive cheap.

Haha.. that reminds me of the african guy on fonejacker

"Sir.. their is a pigeon in your bank account. WE need your sort code to get it out.."

  4. RAM is good for performance.. especially with audio. I have built id say around 100+ computers in my time so I know a couple lil tips.

It is as was pointed out best to match ram sticks e.g. 3 x 2gb stick will be faster then mixing random sticks. Its always a good idea to stick to same brand and clock speed as well. Your current sticks should say what they are e.g. DIMM 5200 mhz.. this is the speed of the ram stick. its not a good idea to have random clock speeds on one motherboard as it can impede your RAM speed.

However.. usually its not noticeable. I always buy my ram sticks at the same time so they are the sticks that came off the factroy line one after another to ensure they are similar which gives a lil speed boost. But id say that the actual amount of RAM is more important than pairing.. at which point 4.5 gb is Fine.

Oh and as for headphones.. Sennheiser are my best value choice.

  5. Well this should prbably be moved to recording now... just the way the thread has moved
im currently lookin for a usb or firewire sound input 2 in 2 out all i need really (although 4 in would be nice) at around the 100 pound mark.
Im usin intel mac.. so can anyone recommend anything seeing as its damn near impossible to work out which interfaces work on intel macs.

    Thanks

  6. IMO i-m-r-i-m-r... is very good for triplets but accents too much to keep a balanced 4 notes.. so im learning the method predominantly used by steve di giorgio which is i-m-r-m-i-m-r-m-i and so on...
