Phil.
A legend getting old. Happens to us all.
Apart from Keith, obviously.

I was in a very good band with a great guy but his problem is that he never thought a song was finished.
Even when we played together again after an 18 year break he was still saying songs we had gigged in a set form for years were not finished.
I nearly formed a new band with him again, but ultimately decided against it. I can’t be dealing with that approach.
No art is ever finished, it is only abandoned, but it’s futile to keep going back over and over again at the expense of moving forward.

BUMP!
Price drop and I have now found the official power supply.

TBH I have found other people's presets mostly useless because they are only one part of the overall sound.
About 6 months ago Line6 were offering Peter Hook's main Helix patch as a download. I have to say that as a fan and someone whose current baselines are extremely influenced by his playing I was somewhat underwhelmed. I'm sure the patch works perfectly well for him, but in my case the one I had come up with on my own that uses the same type of modules (distortion, chorus and delay) as he does, but completely different actual models works much better for me.
Agreed.
The only artist patch I though was any good was Jeff Waters guitar patch that was included in an update a few years ago. I'm a fan of Annihilator and initially I wasn't that impressed.
Then I read some L6 posts and it turned out it was a recording patch rather than a live patch. So I recorded a few things with it - not adjusting anything at all - and then double tracked it properly. It then sounded fantastic. Thick and full, but with loads of articulation.
His EQ and relatively low drive settings were the secret.

Barefaced Super Twin (with or without a Tweeter)
Barefaced Big Twin 3.
Both 4ohm and very light.
And, more to the point with your amp, very efficient drivers.

It's always the good ones. RIP.

Nice!

Dual lock for me.
Just don't use too much or you'll need a crowbar to get the pedal off again!

I've bought a few smaller items - pedals, a USB mic etc and they've all be fine. Delivery times vary - can be a few weeks but it saved me money.
Not bought a guitar from them though.

That seems to be a very good bit of kit!

I've got 2 shortie P bass types. One with flats, 1 with rounds.
1 Jazz type long scale.
2 medium scale PJ 4 and a medium scale PJ5
1 Strat
1 LTD Les Paul type1 Ibby 7 string.
The guitars are for recording. Nice variety of tones.
The basses - 99.9% of the time I take a shortie. Flats or rounds depending on the gig.
I love the J type so it's going nowhere, but I could lose the medium scales ones and not be bothered.
I might think about that a bit. I could get a new amp I'd never use....

My recording set up is built around a Helix rack. The entire HX line is amazing. It is very versatile, the sounds are fantastic and I never feel like "I wish I had X, then I could do..." type things.
I reckon I have 4 main bass sounds with it + the odd sprinkling of FX when needed. But it also does all my guitar recording, and I use loads of different sounds for that, always double tracked at least.
As I've got the rack it is also my Mic Pre as it has a dedicated mic input with phantom power too.
I'm thinking of getting a Stomp to put on my board as well though.
If you are looking for a cheaper option than the Stomp - get a used one rather than something less capable.

To paraphrase my namesake:
"The name's Smalls, Leonard Smalls. My friends call me Lenny only I ain't got no friends."
That's what my basses call me. They speak to me you know! They are my only true friends.
They do like to slag off the guitar I've got in the corner though.

Nice!
EB Group iv flats are usually my first choice on mine, but it currently has some Dunlop "not at all actually" Superbright steel rounds on it as I have some slappy stuff to record.

What a strange and unhinged question.
I don't have any friends.

That is bloody gorgeous!
Nice one!
Now, throw away the god awful strings that come with them!

I’ve got a Line 6 one.
I bought it for magic shows but used it to sing with too. Was also handy for sound checks and saving a bit of space on stage.
The downside was if I wanted a quiet word with a band member during a song I’d have to turn it off and then back on.

Thank you Gentlemen for the replies. More info: Mesa d800+ head 400w @8ohms into GK 212neo 500watts RMS@8ohms.. Bass: EMG DCX@ Neck. EMG CSX@ bridge. EMG BTS active e.q..
Daddario NYC Nickel Rounds light guage...(Have tried Flats as well)..
Pedals: TC Polytune Mini into Keeley Bassist compressor into DarkGlass Vintage Microtubes (set mostly clean)..
Band: Drummer with an A.S. degree in music with a jazz background with good dynamic control...
2 guitarists with Epi les pauls on a Peavey 50watt 2x12 and a Fender 25watt, both with various Boss Delay, Reverb pedals.
Gigs: Decent P.A. support with some mixes better than other depending on the sound guy...
Rehearsal: No p.a. support. We try and get a mix as best we can.. Rehearsal Space: Large enough that we can spread out into a "stage type configuration and spread"...
Music Played: Original "Alternative Metal" in Drop-D tuning with one guitarist focusing on harmonic riffs, 2nd guitar focusing on complimentary rythm, bass and guitar driving the band on an equal footing, but since he is a good drummer and i am no slouch on bass, we have our moments to shine within certain songs. Mesa head and GK cab have sufficient db for rehearsal. But there is a baked in "clank and grind" to the GK cab that i have not managed to e.q. out with the bass controls or the e.q. on the Mesa head or the e.q. on the Darkglass pedal.
This tone does not sit well in the mix with this band...Thus the interest in Barefaced cabs. Have tried an Ampeg PF500 through the GK cab. Same "clank and grind" no matter e.q.... Tried another bass, ESP Vintage214 P/J with EMG GB passive pickups with passive e.q through both heads....same GK tone. Pretty sure its the GK cab with the tone that isnt working.. Thus the question regarding Barefaced cabs and regarding the db capacity of the BF210ST 8ohm that if it could fairly equal the db through the GK212 that i already have regardless of manufacturer posted specs of cab db.
Was looking for real time opinions of if BF210 is loud enough all other things being equal vs reviews and opinions of other 210 cabs which i have read on multiple other forums as not being loud enough, realizing that "Loud Enough" is a relative term. Thank you all and goodnight.

The Voodoo Labs pedalboard which powers all my pedals ( no 9v batts in pedals) which are all all connected by Mogami Gold 3" patch cables.
The Mesa amp power cable is stock. I run all this through a Furman RMI/EFI/Surge protected power conditioner.
I keep my bass in a Gator hardshell case. I use a Franklin black leather strap about 4 inches wide with some nice padding over my left shoulder with some nice brass conchos in the empty adjustment slots that hang on my right side behind my ass.
Play mostly two-finger style, but can make do with a plectrum if a song requires more "bite".
Usually wear jeans and boots and a t-shirt to rehearsal and gigs. I have more hair on my face than I do on my head, and usually wear a cap, but how all this info will help me determine if a particular Barefaced cab will work for me is beyond my comprehension...just trying to supply all the info I can...
You forgot that your return and space keys were broken so I thought I'd fix that for you.
You also forgot your favourite type of post gig food. Is it a big old kebab with lots of chilli sauce?

I find it easier to hide wrong notes on a five string as well. The low notes are not quite as distinct as higher ones and I can get away with murder! 😂

... and then I remember, no arguments, no organisation, more sleep...
And It's not a shame anymore!

They seem to have more low end than many steels as well.
It's almost a shame that I'm currently without a band!

I was exclusively 5 string for a long time - at least 10 years. Playing jazz and with transposing instruments that B string was really useful.
Then I tore a tendon and found a 4 more comfortable during my long recovery and I'm pretty happy with that. Mind you I find my way to the right notes a lot easier when moving downwards rather than up!
I only have one 5 string now and I play it at home a bit, but generally a 4 string and a good octave pedal and I'm sorted!
If I win the Lottery though, then I'll be making a trip to Bavaria for a chat with Gerald Marleaux to make something special.

On a shorty bass with full sized tuners you can use any strings you like. Long scale ones will be fine.
If the tuners have small posts then short scale strings are needed as the fat bit of the string won't go round the tiny post well - and flats will just snap while installing them.
I find it easier to get strings for my 2 shorties with full sized tuners than I do for my medium scales with small tuners.
