1. I have family that way so some time in the future but not immediately! Tom
2. Hey gang, Got a nice epiphone thunderbird. You know the score on these; sexy as hell, thunderous bottom and and a fast neck. No neck dive on this one due to the wide strap i'll throw in and it has had the strap pin moved. Its the classic sunburst one. Covered in dings and bangs, a great back up/beater/rugged punk bass. I've used it at one gig since i've got it. I looked the bollocks but its not the bass for me! I'm mainly looking at trading up - i'm thinking a jazz or a Yamaha. Willing to put £200 into it. Hit me up! The worst i can say is no! The bass is currently in Birmingham, but i can get it down to Glos/Cheltenham easily. Not keen on posting due to my lack of resources but i'm sure i could secure a box. Picture here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=attach...st&id=73700 I should also add that it comes with a ritter soft case which has enough cubby holes for all the leads you could possibly require. Cheers, Tom
3. Very lovely! played one of these when they were new - i was probably about 14 at the time and didn't really like it. Now an older wiser 18 year old i'm gassing my arse off. One of the best jazz basses i played - with those mods it must be irresistible. Infact, it really is. YOU SIR HAVE A PM.
4. Matt popped over and bought my Squier Jag this week. Lovely bloke, friendly comms throughout and clearly knows his basses! Buy with confidence gang!
5. This topic has certainly cemented what i think about Yamahas! Just need people to buy some things so i can get that tasty TRB 1004... Tom
6. When you think of great basses - its always the classics that come to mind. Fenders, Gibsons, G+L, Musicman etc etc. Yet Yamaha have been around for 30 years and always seem the 'geeky brother' of the bass world. I'd never really sat down and had a go on a yammy until a few weeks ago, and i've now played a BB424 and a TRB1004. Both basses were beautiful, sounded smooth (piano tone, so even compared to Fenders i've played) and moreover built like tanks. I've never sat down with something that felt that 'solid'. Now i have major GAS for tom's TRB 1004 on here. What do Yamaha have to do to break into the top tier of bassy conciousness?
7. Hey, had some interest in the head and the 4x10 but nothing certain yet. I'll get back to you guys on it when i've spoken to the owner.
