  1. I'm the original owner of this bass. Those are Aeros which were available at the time. Bit warmer than the Duncans in the high mids, very full and defined sound.
  2. Selling my Avalon U5 DI & Preamp. Mint condition. Studio use only. No trades. Comes with an additional moulded military grade case. SONIC EXCELLENCE The Avalon U5 Pure Class A instrument DI & preamplifier is the most powerful direct box available today. Designed to optimize absolute signal integrity and musical performance, the U5 includes many features and sonic excellence unequaled by lesser designs. The U5 is ideal for bass guitar and acoustic instruments, electric guitars, keyboards, synthesizers and low output pickups. Features include state-of-the-art, high input impedance input stage for zero load effect on sensitive pickups and keyboards, 100% discrete, Pure Class A signal amplifiers, practical user features and rugged hardware designed to deliver true high performance audio for many years. DESIGNED FOR DEEP & CONTROLLED BASS Avalon U5 DI-preamps have been in use around the world since 1995. They have found their way into the world's leading musicians rigs and recording sessions and been featured on thousands of the best selling (and sounding) albums and live performances. MINIMUM SIGNAL PATH DESIGN The U5 includes a variable gain Class A preamplifier to boost low level pickup signals and a high level speaker input for capturing the live sound of the instruments amplifier. Six passive tone-EQ curves are also included to enhance a variety of acoustic and electric instruments. A high-cut switch eliminates unwanted acoustic pickup and high frequency noise, while a headphone monitor amp has been included for personal listening. Twin DC coupled Class A output amplifiers drive both low level microphone preamp inputs and high level +4dB inputs for direct to tape recording or processing. The active-to-thru switch selects either the instrument input directly or sends the boosted-equalized signal to the amplifier via the front panel jack. A ground isolation switch eliminates any possible earth loop or AC buzz problems with complete safety. 3. Amazing jazz bass. Refinished and holes filled in post removal of pick guard. Have PMd you more details.
  4. Passive V/V/T setup (with enough room to put an active circuit if desired). 35" Off white pick guard.
  5. In this case it's the ageing (and very slight cracking) of the paint and a few slight bumps, to give it the appearance of a vintage rather than new instrument. It's most commonly done on Fender Custom Shop instruments.
  6. Selling my very rare 60s style 5 string jazz bass made by Christian Celinder in Copenhagen. These are becoming more and more difficult to find, with most of his jazz basses being in 70s style (ash/maple) rather than 60s (alder/amazon rosewood) configuration. Got this used a few years ago and it's in excellent condition, having had a recent fret levelling, setup, and strings put on. I had the pick guard removed as I prefer the cleaner look and the body was then professionally 3refinished. I have the original pick guard (off white) and screws which will come with the bass. Looking for a straight sale only. Body: Alder Neck: Maple Fingerboard: Amazon/Brazilian Rosewood Pickups: Celinder (I believe these are made by Kent Armstrong) Here's my feedback thread: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/185975-feedback-for-arnoldoc/?tab=comments#comment-1793647
  7. Noah offered an MTD 5 for a trade and after a quick get together, we got to an agreement. Nice guy to deal with and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
  8. Just did a trade deal with Will (will4bass). Very knowledgeable and great seller. Quick communicator and quick shipping research meant we soon had an agreement. Good packing and documentation meant swap went smoothly with no issues at customs. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
  9. Words simply don't do this bass the justice it deserves, but hopefully pictures will help! The tone is crazy, unlike anything I've ever played. Super versatile, juicy as hell and slaps like a mother, but also cuts through a mix in a very tasteful way. The ash neck give it a warmer tone compared to maple neck MTDs. The Birdseye fingerboard needs to be seen. The sassafras top is a piece of art in itself. This was bought new at Bass Direct and just recently got it as part of a trade. Beautiful bass but I'm more of a jazz bass guy myself. Looking for a straight sale. Only exceptions being an alder body Stenback 5 and might consider an alder MTD 535 or a Fender Pino Palladino CS. You can get all the details on it here: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/MTD_USA_535_Sassafras_BEM.html It's in absolutely mint condition, no dings or anything. You could have supremely low action as it's setup at the moment if that's your thing. You can hear the bass on this track, verse 2 is the most 'raw' bass tone in the track: https://open.spotify.com/track/6DU4dKmXuvzgjgaX7R5bJB?si=BVjO7OZoSS2iSAyTTSw7-g Additional Details: -Body - Swamp Ash -Top - Premium quality Tasmanian Sassafras ( £800 option) -Matching heal - (£50 option) -Matching head - (£50 option) -Satin finish -Custom knobs in matching wood (£150 option) -Neck - Ash with Titanium bars (£150 option) -Fingerboard - Bird’s eye maple, 24 fret (£250 option) -Pickups - Custom MTD Bartolini soapbars -Preamp - Custom MTD Bartolini 3 band -Finish for body and neck is a satin catalyzed urethane. -Weight - 4kg/9lb -MTD Pro Tec case (£160 option) Plenty of feedback on this thread
