Had an acoustic guitar for a few years and recently got an electric but made the mistake of getting a Floyd Rose trem so now i need another as well...

Dunlop Tortex .73 or .88 for me, depends what mood i'm in. I occasionally go up to a 1 or 1.14 when i'm playing one of those skinny stringed things.

This week it's been endless musical theatre for some reason. I've got through The Greatest Showman, American Idiot, Dear Evan Hansen, Les Miserables and Hamilton.
-
Enter Shikari, Lower Than Atlantis and Astroid Boys in Manchester last night. I'm not sure that i can actually move or speak today.
-
Don Broco at Alexandra Palace on saturday for me. Only three more this year after that.
-
Rise Against in Manchester last night, and i'm feeling it today. I got kicked in the face by a crowd surfer and a knee to the face in the pit. Sleeping With Sirens were okay as a support, nothing brilliant.

Almost completely rewritten the song and turned it into something incredibly different from the original. -
Postage an option or collection only?

Had my Ibanez for 10 years this christmas. Addmitedly since then it's had many modifications and barely resembles the original bass, but still.

There's been some rather big issues with Microsoft servers over the last two days. It's becoming a right pain in the rear for me now.

Has anyone used a rev33 thingy?

I won one last year in a random competition they do, and in a blind test (My mate swapping outputs behind me) i did notice everything sounding clearer and cleaner when i was using it. Don't ask me what it does though, i just call it the magic box. -
'51 Slab Body P Bass, hollowbody with F Hole.
4 string
Not 100% sure on wood, but it would be in metalflake purple
1 piece maple with tele headstock and purple front/side LED's. Possibly painted headstock to match the body.
Hipshot with Xtender
Graphite nut, standard P-bass width
20 fret
Norsdtrand MM4.4 with 3 way coil split for full humbucker. j bass and p bass.
Passive volume and tone on a '51 control plate.
'51 style black pickguard.
Hipshot A
Elixir Nanoweb Stainless 45-105
I'd also have a solid body 5 string variant in white flake, black binding, fretless w/wenge board and a pair of Nordstrand MM5.4's. -
I'll add another recommendation for a Kiogon wiring kit. I've got two now and they're top quality stuff.
-
45-105 for me. I sometimes go for a slightly heavier set if i know i'll be tuning down but for the most part that works nicely for me. I can't remember whether i have 45-130 or 135 on the 5 string.
-
I'd take a look at Ibanez myself. They're not Floyd Rose bridges, but the Edge system is just as good from my experiences.
-
I found they took a bit of getting used to at first but nowadays i don't leave the house without them.
-
My last band did rockier versions of I Believe I Can Fly, Beautiful Girls, Tik Tok, Friday/Baby mashup, Ghostbusters and a few others that i can't remember.
-
Next one up for me is the British Sound Project, which has Twin Atlantic, Deaf Havana, Lonely The Brave, Fatherson and a few more on.
-
Give Elixirs a go. Not the cheapest but i've had sets last me 6 months of gigging in the past, and they were only chanced because the coating was fraying.
-
No comment regarding the tuner, but anyone who like gear porn should follow Patrick Hufschmid on any of the social media sites of your choosing. The work that fella does is incredible.
-
2000's metal. Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, that sort of stuff. At first it was mainly wanting to play guitar but my dad came home one day with a bass and it went from there.
-
I work on muscle memory mostly and last time i played an fretless it was unlined and i didn't seem to have any issues. Personally i'd always get unlined just because it looks nicer IMO.

Enter Shikari & Mallory Knox at iBoat in Bordeaux, France. After seeing Mallory Knox last night (in the hottest venue in Britain i think) i expect it will be a night to remember.

no problem, if you're looking for slimmer bodied then one of my favorites is the Aria sandpiper, not easy to come by but i could get you a try on one as my best friend has one (a few years old and a bit battle scarred but a really lovely guitar) the shop on old george yard used to sell them but is more selling secondhand guitars now.
the sandpiper is akin to the Yamaha APX but the sound quality is on another level (judging by the ones i've played form both ranges)
Fender make some very slim acoustics but they're strat or tele shaped rather than traditional shaped.
i tend to buy most of my guitar stuff from the shop on old george yard, the owner Bryan has become a friend over the years (and the thousands of pounds i've spent in there!)

My guitar teacher when i was at school had a sandpiper and i remember it being one of the nicest things i've played.
Who did you see live last?

Don Broco (A recurring one for me it seems) in Liverpool Academy a few weeks ago. That room must've been well over 30 degrees by the end of the night.
