  1. Madison Avenue man - Greg Kihn Band
  2. Absolutely - I mean, why would you? At best the risk of damaging your amp/speaker, at worst possible death.
  3. And they're always the pink and lime green ones too aren't they? 😅
  4. Marina - Dean Martin (for those old enough to remember British Leyland...)
  5. From my experience it's usually the guitarists who have them in the first place....😅
  6. Fairground - Simply Red
  7. Yes, good call sir. I’ll also add brightly coloured instrument leads - yes I know that dayglo pink makes them easier to find at the end of the gig, but just wrong, okay? 🤢
  8. Around and around - Chuck Berry / Stones
  9. Welcome to the working week - Elvis Costello
  10. Pretty sure the one I had was 4 ohms. Great cab, you really wouldn’t need to run it with another one. 😄
  11. Just seven numbers (can straighten out my life) - The Four Tops
  12. Beechwood 4-5789 - The Marvelettes
  13. Great band. Once heard that the song was not about an unfaithful relationship but apparently written about the bassist moonlighting with another band who were trying to get him to leave Ace. Don’t know how true this is mind.
  14. Twenty flight rock - Eddie Cochran
  15. I can’t stand this too. Along with those people who can’t restring it properly, and winding too much string on the post so it overlaps. Can’t stand basses being propped up against an amp or a chair either, especially onstage! Get a stand for crying out loud. Also straps that are not adjusted properly (or just too long )leaving a section extending past the strap buttons. 🤨
  16. Coney Island Baby - Lou Reed
  17. Black night - Deep Purple
  18. He did, but it was earlier than that in 1981. He left Squeeze in 1982 and by the late 80’s was involved with Mike and the Mechanics. Think he rejoined Squeeze briefly in the early 90’s too. 😊
  19. Down under - Men at Work
  20. Half the world away - Oasis
  21. Halfway to paradise - Billy Fury
  22. I remember watching this concert on TV. I think it was Phil Collins and Midge Ure who put together a band to back quite a few of the singers who performed as well as Paul Carrack - Tony Hadley, Paul Young etc.
  23. Summer the first time - Bobby Goldsboro
  24. Bows and arrows - Kaiser Chiefs
  25. Mercury poisoning - Graham Parker
